Fugly Farm

Looks like they love their pond! You need a fish tank, so you can raise guppies to feed to them or mollies, they are both pretty prolific breeders! A very cheap supply of food, well after buying the setup for it! :)

That's a good idea to raise guppies or mollies for the ducks Rene :thumbsup

They definitely love that pond lol. I just run down to the pet store and buy feeder fish once a week for them. I don’t need another project. I did think about it though!

That's good news, right?
It doesn’t really matter either way. I got more ducks because I thought she was a boy but it simplifies things because I’m not getting chickens with six ducks so only one coop or house to keep cleaned up.

Went out this afternoon to check on the duck weed. This weekend I’m dividing into two containers to increase production a bit and feeding some to the ducks and ducklings. I’ve been reading about seaweed fertilizers and they seem to offer benefits as a foliar spray and to soak seeds prior to sowing. I tried this on my strawberries and the seedlings I have in pots as I’m ready to get those transplanted and they’re still tiny. Tomorrow I’ll be cleaning out the shed so I can move all my gardening supplies out there and stripping wire from the tomato cages so I can use them in the garden. The ducklings are getting a pool tomorrow and I’ll get updated pics then. I read about ways to use duck poop. It seems a little goes a long way and they are creatures of habit so we’ll have a second pool for sure and I’ll leave it out by the lemon tree. Otherwise their poop will overload the area and prevent plants from growing. Here’s a few pics from today

I sure like your garden gnomes IM!

How did you start the duckweed, was it from a live plant or from seed?
Thank you, got the gnomes from my secret Santa at work. The duck weed started with live plants that I ordered online. It’s supposed to multiply quickly with warm temps and light.

Went to Lowe’s for pools today. I bought three because being out there year round is going to be brutal. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I put one out by the lemon tree this morning and the big girls have been out there all day having fun. It took me all day but I got the shed cleaned out, moved my stuff in, then got it organized. The shed iwas here when we moved in and I can’t see buying a new one if this one is mostly ok, but the door is an issue. I’m going to have hubs cut my lattice door down more to size and I’ll cover it with HWC to deter rats, I found a dead one in there today :sick Hopefully being cleaned out and tidy and getting regular traffic will help as well. Didn’t have much time with the ducklings today, every time I went in there they ran to the corner so other than they’re bigger, not much has changed. I’ll get updated pics tomorrow/
