Got some Velcro tape to hold up one of the Carolina jessamines until it can latch on to the trellis. The wind keeps blowing it over and it never has a chance get a grip

Also got one of the soaker hoses I ordered. The chaste trees have been trimmed of dead ends and watered today. They’re on the patio next to the grass which gets intense summer sun, will keep an eye on them to make sure they aren’t drying out too much

Those are interesting bags the little trees are in...are they canvas?

They are grow bags, I don’t recall what they’re made of. They are supposed to air prune the roots so the plants don’t become root bound like they do in hard surface pots. When a plant is root bound it isn’t able to absorb nutrients or water properly, I’m sure you knew that already lol. I like that they have handles too.

Aiden shredded a bunch of dry branches for me today, he added about as much material to my pile as I had already. Tomorrow I’ll move some mulch after work and try to get the pile moved away from where I want to put the bin. Then I have to get hubs to cut lattice to size so I can assemble it and get it going. The wheelbarrow isn’t even full.

Apparently my 85 year old FIL has been drag racing his ‘37 Chevy against various kids around town again. Most recently were kids in a new Camaro, they could keep up but couldn’t pull away. Then on weekends he uses the ‘37 to tow a ‘57 Trojan wood boat to shows. SMH.

Today I hauled a bunch of stuff from my moms house to my house so we can have a yard sale next weekend. The uhaul has been returned, then we went to the store for a few things. Hubs bought this solar frog for my garden

I haven’t seen the chicks or bunnies in days! Aiden has been feeding and watering them while I’ve done other things. Tomorrow will be some major yard work, early before the heat sets in.

I fed the buns and chicks yesterday. HopTart was happy to see me, she’s such a sweet girl. Entitled too, she eats greens out of my hand and if she wants pellets, she pretty much throws the bowl at me lol.

The chicks are huge, probably too big to fit under the heat plate and by the look of things they’re probably sleeping on top of it. I think they’re going a little stir crazy in the coop though. The NNs are, well gingers I guess. Not red. The others I am questioning breed. Possibly one or two are SS but I don’t believe they all are. Also, we have a rooster out there 😔 So rooster training begins now.
