It's sweatshirt weather here this morning. 48°!
I noticed that several of my hens had the bully attitude this summer. They have calmed down as the weather cooled. Now everyone is molting and tempers flare occasionally, but my roosters are generally laid back, and when they aren't, its because they get caught up in the ladies' drama.

It very well could have been drama among the girls. They are all in various stages of molt and the weather has been up and down. Only having four girls might be a bit tough too, Elvis loved all of them lol.

At the park this morning.

Pretty morning IM. Will you be taking the pups with you to Sedona this week?
No, they aren’t going. Abby will stand around and bark at people and Frank will be too demanding for attention from people. Layla is going and I don’t have to deal with her. She’s laid back and easy going, our dogs are spoiled rotten and ready to protect us from the world.

Went out to do some yard work this morning and we had clouds to the northeast with some lightning. It’s still cool and there’s a nice breeze. The chickens are definitely enjoying the cooler temps; with all the digging and watering they’re busy foraging and bathing. Two more trees to go, should be able to get those done this week in the mornings before it’s hot. Next will be marking off the new garden area with stakes, leveling the ground, laying down some weed barrier, and building the beds. I need to get a few more things out of the shade garden and lay some weed barrier in there too. Also have to haul some blocks in there to set my hydroponic system up and get the pump and stuff set up for that. I got spigots for the buckets so it’ll be easier to drain them. I may convert to a two step system for less water waste. Shorter buckets at first, and bigger buckets when the roots are long and need more space. Also easier on me, less weight to lift.
