I’m pretty sure I hurt mys of the other day moving logs. Over the last couple of days my shoulder has been killing me and using my right arm today is pretty much out of the question. I left some cardboard out to put in the bottom of the raised beds. The rain made them easy to work with so I got some laid out in two beds. I’m done for today.

Sorry you're sore IM. Do you have a heating pad or hot water bottle (heat can help imo)?

Thanks Debby. I do have a heating pad and am sitting with it now. I wish I could take it with me to dinner, we’re supposed to meet son/DIL later. It’s hard to get dressed so not sure what I’ll wear.

Quincy seems to like Attila and the red Nn, he was following them around this morning. So cute. Apparently Attila wasn’t done molting, she has even more white spots now. Toast is a daughter to Elvis and she is done; I noticed yesterday that she’s got more black markings in her back and wings. She’s skittish so it’s hard to get pics of her unfortunately, but she really is a pretty bird. The red Nn didn’t seem to molt much and Elvis looks to be done as well. At least he has his beautiful tail again, he likes to get compliments on it. Last week I gave a few things in the garden some fertilizer and this week I’m seeing a huge improvement in both the Carolina and night blooming jessamines. Also the jasmine in the trellis in the shade garden. The two bells of fire and the lantana against the wall are showing improvement as well. I’m hoping those will all get a boost of growth before it’s super cold. Right now we’re in the mid to low 70’s for our highs and mid to low 50’s for the lows. I found two bees in the chicken water, if they’re too dumb to figure out there’s water for them then there’s nothing I can do. There’s a dog bug going around with confirmed cases in Colorado and California. I’m still undecided about the park for the dogs. In theory it would be better than walking the neighborhood and definitely better than going into the dog area period. It’s still unknown how it spreads, but it’s a respiratory illness.

Your temps sound perfect, hope that gives all the growing things a good boost. Have you talked to your vet about that respiratory bug going around? I wonder if there is anything they can give to keep the dogs safe?

Right now they don’t know anything about it really. It doesn’t respond to antibiotics and can turn into pneumonia. My daughter had Layla at the vet yesterday and she hadn’t even heard about it. Right now the only recommendation is to keep your dogs separated from others.

My project this week has been this storage chest, I keep a couple of months of dog food on hand and store it in here.

You would think that since the bags are plastic they’d not leak oils but they do, so I had to clean the inside and we’re going to put a liner in it. Frank chewed one of the corners of the lid when he was a puppy so it has an ugly spot, but I painted it anyway. The wood was super dry and the paint… I dunno it just wasn’t spreading well so I used a roller and need to sand it down a little before I brush on the final coat. I need to touch up the edge of the lid too. I like this color though, the paint is for cabinets and trim so it should hold up.

Chew marks add character and make for good memories. (As long as they don't eat the sofa.)

That's a nice chest! Is the color black or a deep brown?
