Explain this please, the turkens are appealing to me. Concerned about the mosquitos, but appealing enough to try. Hairless dogs, cats and rats are nasty.

I can't really answer your question about that, as I don't have a bunch of mosquito's over here. We don't grow grass and we drag the yard until there's nothing but dirt and rock's, so there's nothing for them to hide in. There are also no pool's of water that are standing for day's at a time for them to lay the egg's in. I'm pretty sure that there are other people that live in Texas that have Turkin's too, so you might ask them about the mosquito's in your area.
Hopeful. On a brighter note, the spring mint tea tastes great. A cut worm put a dent in the mint, but with winter here, the mint is taking off and tastes great. Protected from the chickens in a 45 gallon pot with fencing around it.
Nothing is full proof, I've put lantana clippings in the chicken run and they left them alone. Maybe one of the chicken resistant plants. Thanks for the idea. I will try it.
