Fugly Farm

I'll post pictures of the Dorking's that Pam took with her camera phone as soon as she email's them to me and I can save them to my computer. I think she might have taken a picture of the 4 little Nn chick's too.

@igorsMistress I'm glad that you found where those ant's were.

@N F C It's not too cold for short's. I about live in T-shirt and short's down here until it get's too cool that I have to wear jean's.

Can’t wait to see pics! I’ve seen the Dorkings but hope she got some pics of the Nn chicks too!

When I lived in south FL I only wore tee's and shorts too. When we moved to north FL I had to actually go buy a jacket because I didn't own a single one. Now in Wyoming, I'm cold almost all the time, have multiple winter coats, scarves, thermal shirts, etc. It's jeans year round for me!

Too bad DH didn't get a job in south FL so we could have stayed there (but I liked it there better than he did).

Your climate now is a far cry from S FL and PHX that’s for sure!

This afternoon I put the pool on the patio and gave the birds some water in it to wade. Seeing a lot of wet raptor tracks on the cement so they have been wading quite a bit. Daughter says all the birds were in the big coop but the new girls were right at the pop door so she had to put them on the roost last night. Cuckoo might have been being an unmentionable at roost time though so hopefully tonight they’ll get in there.

I got some Italian oregano when we went to get some stuff for a bed of oleanders and planted that today. If my roses don’t make it I think I’m going to get some morning glories to plant and grow on the trellis in the center of the shade garden. I like the blue ones and they’re pretty but difficult to get rid of. We’ll see what the AZ summers have to say about that. I may move one of the elephant ears to a new spot where it’ll get a bit more shade. I have some white Mexican poppies in a corner and I think the yellow and purple glads would look good in there with some red dahlias and then my snake plants interspersed in clumps here and there. I’m going to keep turning that soil to keep the composting of hay and bunny poop going and add some gypsum to help loosen the soil a bit. It’s much improved from years past but needs to soften some to drain better. I might also add some top soil to it to help that along, then plant in late Winter or very early Spring.

I’m laying on my bed listening to Frankie snore 🤭 he’s pooped.

I decided to go ahead and move the elephant ear and I took some cuttings of the Mexican heather to see if I can get some to propagate. I’d like to plant a couple more of those for ground cover among the other plants which are bird of paradise and elephant ears as well as these things with red blooms, firecracker plants I think. Still debating on a transition plant between those and the bulbs.

Also, I bought myself a pair of Skinners
today. They are socks with a sole so to speak. They’ll be nice for Winter grocery shopping and more like being barefoot than my Xero shoes
