Fugly Farm

Thank you NFC, I’m happy it’s over! I have a few books to read lol. One on Zen Buddhism, one on permaculture, and two by Stephen King. The SK books will be first, either The Institute or Billy Summers. Have you read either of those? I’ll probably read Billy Summers first because it’s a hardcover so bigger print

Makes sense to go with the larger print first, you can kind of ease back into things. I've read The Institute but not sure about Billy Summers. Let me know what you think when you're done.

Chicks moved outside to the big coop.

They’re out there chirping away and happy about all the space. A couple have dirty bottoms so I’m going to clean them up and give probiotics.

The compost bin has been moved and refilled. It smelled good, like dirt, but was beginning to dry out a bit so I watered it. The bin is full though, so this week I’ll be shredding branches and such and moving some of the wood chips to the xeriscape garden so I have a spot for another bin. Not sure yet what I’m going to do for that, but I don’t think my xpen idea will work out for very long.

Dogs at the park today. I tried to get a pic of the buns but Kevin went to hide and HopTart stalked away after I moved all their stuff out of the coop.

Garden update.

There are onions in both pots, one of the chaste trees for sure has new leaves and another looks like it will soon. I planted the beach party lilac a few days back, one of the aloes is going to bloom soon and the lemon tree is covered in flowers and little lemons. I ordered a banana tree and a greenhouse.

We'll be needing pictures soon IM, sounds like things are popping!

I bet your garden (and house) smell good with all those herbs IM!

Is your unknown plant a firecracker?
That sounds about right, too much on my mind so thanks for that! The herbs do smell nice. I have a vase full of rosemary on my desk in the office, it goes well with the lavender mint candles I like to burn.

We’ve had quite a few windy days and the shade on top of one of the gardens came loose, hubs fixed it today and trimmed the bougainvillea, most of which will go through the shredder. It still needs some work but this is as far as he got

Two out of four chaste trees made it. These will go in large pots with lattice cages to shade the pots. Hopefully they’ll shade the Arcadia door and the window in the kids room

Star jasmine in the shade garden. The moonflowers didn’t sprout, possibly because they don’t get enough sun, so I got this at walmart for $5. It is the perfect size to fit inside the base of the trellis and I could dig the hole with a hand trowel

I trimmed the olive tree because it had a lot of crossed branches and such that would become a problem later. A lot of the lower stuff was dry so hopefully the trim will give it more vigor.
