Got rain last night, roughly 1/4”. It’s beautiful outside, mid 80’s with a nice breeze. Hoping for more over the weekend

It’s a nice break yeah. It’s going to be hot and muggy for a couple of days, but we have double digits in the weekend forecast

We’ve only had a few drops; it was downgraded to a tropical storm and won’t cause any more damage to Cali than a typical monsoon can produce for us. Everyone was so excited about it lol.

Woo, it is muggy outside! I made new nest boxes, deeper, and sprinkled in some dried lavender, roses and marigolds. They smell good anyway. We’ve had brief periods of sprinkles but not enough to even wet the ground, the drops dry up right away. The forecast says we’ll be back over 110 by the weekend

This is where the chickens hang out most of the day, particularly when it’s hot. Left is the lemon tree, back is an Arabian lilac and right is Bella of fire or something like that. The lilac provides the most dense shade. To the right behind the shade garden is a fruitless olive. To the left will be another Vitex, another Arabian lilac and a chuparosa to block reflected heat off the North wall. There’s water in a five gallon bucket back there plus an extra source in the coffee can.
