Fugly Farm

Bulk trash is out! Igor complained about the sink and table. I swear if he didn’t complain about something every day he would go through withdrawal.

Had to laugh IM, you reminded me of what an old boss lady I had used to say (with a very drawl)..."That man would complain if he were hung with a new rope". :gig

Corn is in and covered to keep wild birds from digging it up. Table and chairs and finally gone. Dismiss the mess, I’m working on it but trying to recycle some of those materials rather than throw them away. Also wrapped one of the compost bins with some of the used weed barrier from the shade garden but I’m not walking back out there to take a pic right now.

I can’t say that because the rules were if the rope broke the person would go free according to Igor so everyone wanted to be hung with an old rope and not a new one.

Went to Lowe’s and got a container of zucchini and the four plants in it. I planted three, the fourth was too close and I cut it off. DH got me the thing with yellow flowers on it that look like tiny daisies. I think it will soften that corner and there may be two plants in there. Also got a cute succulent that I hung in the shade garden. Also got a pic of the compost area.

Guess I wasn’t done yet. I started trimming these three trees. Not done yet, and I’ll be out there every morning this week cleaning up that mess. The ducks like to eat the leaves off the lemon tree and the chickens like the flowers. The plan is to wrap the trunks with burlap to prevent sunscald and discourage new growth there.

The Arabian lilac is super heavy in the front so I’m going to have Igor cut off this big limb in the front. It’ll open up the walkway through there quite a bit and the ground will have a chance to dry out. The olive tree, fruitless, is there to the right across from the compost bins.

Euryops Honey tali;
Had to look that flower up. We here in zone 5A have something similar,,, but not the same. It is quite prolific for me. Daisy like flowers. I will try to find out the plant name........ but not until summer,, when it is growing.
Read that your plant may be invasive.. I think that is a WELCOME variety,,,:thumbsup, in your harsh summer temps. Supposed to like well drained soil.

I guess I’ll see how well it likes my hard clay soil 🤭

We cut two branches off the Arabian lilac and that really opened up things so the lower branches underneath can now get light instead of reaching. It also really helped open up the space.

The ducks were supervising
