I have a hen with a crop full of grit. She had sour crop and I treated her for that.
She seems to be normal except for the pendulous crop. I let her back in with the rest of the flock. How do I get this out of her crop?

You may need to take her to a vet for crop surgery. Why would she have eaten a lot of grit? Does she have access to a balanced layer feed all of the time? You could try giving her some coconut oil 1 tsp. You can stick it in the freezer for a few minutes to make it solid, and cut it into small pieces which she may eat.

I can feel it in there and there was some in her poo. I swept up some oyster shell and cherry grit that the mice had chewed a hole in and threw it outside the coop. It's gone. Treatment was massage crop to make vomit, isolated, and took food away. Water with acv. Dulcolax, Monistat 7, cooked eggs, probiotics, yogurt and tubed in water. Used a crop bra that I had a really hard time with keeping in place. Feeding Nutrena Naturewise 16% pellets and free range. She is a year old now.
