Fully Formed chicks not hatching

The kids have really loved it. we set up a brooder in the classroom and I plan to leave them at school until Friday then bring them home to the big brooder. I have a sizzle hen doing it the old fashioned way right now...bout 10 days in so I am hoping she will take to these little ones too...we will see.

I've been having call ducks fully formed and failing to hatch too. Last week I had 2 eggs. One hatched and one pipped but died before it finished getting out of the shell. Now today I put 2 more in the hatcher and one is fully formed but not moving. I sure hope the one that's still moving makes it out. I'll be helping it along if it's not progressing fast enough.

Ok just did an eggtopsy on 10 more eggs that were 3 days late and not showing any movement when candling or during the float test. All of them were dead in their shell no pips/no internal pips. What the heck is going on?

i had one of my chicks fully formed without hatching in my last hatch. i'm on my second hatch now in lockdown.

it's really pretty dry here in the winter (we're still in winter weather, it's snowing hard right now).

My freind is having the same problem and we have ruled out tep. and humidity.
SO that left contamination.
She is hatching in a Genisis (styrofoam) bator and maybe it is not getting as clean between hatches as it should be.
She also did not candle the eggs to remove any unfertile ones. None exploded.
We live in the same town and I am not having the same issue's.

My bator was brand new so I don't know about contamination for me but that's a good theory. From what I've read I think that my humidity for the region I live in was too low during days 1-18 causing the air cell to grow way too large and possibly making the chicks unable to maneuver successfully to pip. I'm incubating another set right now and I'm keeping the humidity strictly in the 40's days 1-18 so we shall see if my hatch rate improves.

I am having the same problem fully formed chicks die in the eggs out of 30 that went into lock down 14 hatched some of the ones I opened had internally pip into the air sac. I am using the Brinsea Octagon 20 advance with humidity pump I thought it was idiot proof.

I can't figure out what would make them quit so close to hatch. These were all shipped but I would think if the shipping had caused a problem they wouldn't have gotten this far along in their development.

I was wondering about the humidity myself it has been very dry in the house and the cells did seem a bit large to me my humidity was staying ay 38% for the first 18 days. No contamination new incubator .
