How much apple cider vinegar would you put in a gallon of water? I will try a little yogurt for the whole flock. She was bleeding a little this morning, but it is looking better. I think it was where a loose piece of skin came up. I will see if I can get all those things here in Valdez. I think I should be able to. Thanks everyone for all of your help. Should I move her from the rest of the flock for a while? I haven't done that because she seems to have lots of energy.

Well I couldn't get everything, but I got some apple cider vinegar and put a capful in both of their 5 qt water dishes. I put monostat creme on Angel after her bath. I fed them a big bowl of eggs, applesauce and yogurt (which they are walking around suspiciously. I checked everyone elses bottoms and they look good. But they have slacked off on the eating and one female who is molting looks a little ragged, plus there is only one out of five females laying eggs. I thought it was because she was molting, but maybe not. Maybe it is that vent gleet. There were some clumped up pieces of food in the last bag. I smelled it and it didn't smell like mold, so I threw the clumps out and fed them the rest... probably not such a good idea. I hope they all make it through this.

They gobbled down the yogurt, eggs, and apple sauce... I loved their little faces with yogurt on them....I don't know if I should give them their regular food too or not.

The next time you are at the feed store, ask about something called Nu-Stock. It is a great, all-purpose antifungal composed of pine tar, mineral oil and sulfur. It might stay in place a little better than the monistat and honey and does a great job at fungal skin infections.

We don't have a feed store here. The closest one is 300 miles away, but I will call them tomorrow and see if they can send some down.

I thought she was looking better, but after the soak... it looks like the honey worked better than the monostat. I will try to get some of the other stuff from Alaska Mill and Feed in Anchorage today.

So you have a bacterial/yeast infection. Monistat will not treat fungal infections. It's either Monistat or fungal foot cream that usually does the trick. Beeswax is great, because it suppresses both bacterial and fungal growth. Glad to hear your duck is doing better.

I ordered the nu stock from Anchorage, but this is starting to get worse and it probably won't be here for a few days. I am going to try you miracle cream spiritdance. I have Neosporin ointment (all they had) and Lotrimin Antifunal creme, and Cortizone.10 creme. I'm a little scared to mix stuff. Angel is soaking now and then I will give it a try. I have been putting apple cider vinegar in their water for a few days and been feeding them a bowl of eggs, applesauce, and yogurt everyday which they are devouring with much enthusiasm. The last couple of days there were a couple of eggs in the pen, so some of them are laying. I was going to start saving eggs for incubating, but I guess this might now be a good time.

I've used miracle cream on everything from gleet on my jumbo pekin to "breeder back" (from overzealous roosters) to mystery cuts to a fungus on several of my chickens' wattles and combs, and it worked great. If it doesn't do the trick, it's definitely time for a vet visit. It takes a day or two, and after the first treatment you may notice the area oozing clear liquid as the hydro starts to dry things up, but usually by the second treatment this goes away. By the third treatment the area should start to look better. Hope your girl recovers quickly. Sending more healing vibes your way.

I hope she is getting better. There was a little blood on her feathers, but I think it was from the fungus like stuff coming off. Should I put her in a pen by herself. I tried tonight and she wanted to go back with other ducks, so I let her.
