Even though I grew up in L. Armstrong's home town and thought I knew his music, I didn't hear 'Wonderful World' until 'Good Morning Vietnam'. Call me a sociopath but I HATE that song. Too sappy. I Love this version though.

The only reason I know the song is because we sang it in music class when I was little

My deceased great grandmother gave me a music box turtle that plays 'wonderful world' and for that reason it's actually one of my favorites. She traveled the world, and she always sent me nifty things from new places, so I guess the song just brings back all my favorite childhood memories of receiving packages and getting to hear from her.
