Funniest Things A City Slicker Has Ever Said To You?

"Im sorry you didn't get it... you just never know, I guess. "

Davaroo, I think they're just yanking your leg.

No. Because this is a thread about real things that have occurred that are humorous, when I read it, I was thinking it was being told as a real story, which is why i was confused. Since there are no three legged chickens IRL, mymind wouldn't process the joke correctly. I get it now that I know it isn't a real story but a random joke.

Had a COUNTRY guy try to tell me that there was a breed of chickens that layed double yolkers EVERY time. "Yeah... them dominikers. I need me some of them."

As far as I recall, my grandfathers Dominiques didn't always lay double yolked eggs.

Not only that, but had a woman with a college degree inform me that my hedgehogs were "Dangerous animals". I asked how in the world she could think that. "Well, those are obviously Porcupines - Hedgehogs don't live in North America. They have poison their spines you know!"

Porcupines. Really?

You can get True Potato seed.(yeah it's actually called that) I'm apart of a true potato seed breeding project here in the south for the seed saver's exchange.
Under the right circumstances potato plants will flower then produce berries that have seeds in them like tiny tomatoes.
Some are viable some are not.
They are superior IMO because they are not genetically identical to the parent plant the way seed potatoes are, which reduces the need for lab culture virus free seed potatoes, as the viruses and other diseases will wipe out an entire field of potatoes that are genetically identical after so many generations, its the same reason for the Irish potato famine.
The goal of the project is to encourage genetic variability and preserving genetic diversity of potatoes and other plants.
I hope that didn't come off as rude. I just love talking about plants

OMG! I think I have FINALLY figured out wth grew out of my compost this year! ROFL. I could not for the life of me figure it out. I thought it was potato plants, but then it just kept growing into a long climbing vine. Then it flowered and grew strange little green balls. I kept thinking they were maybe little melons, but then they turned brown without getting very big. I actually bit one in half to see inside it, and it had that bitter raw potato taste, but I couldn't figure out why potatoes would be growing above ground on a vine.

Sounds like TPS to me. You're lucky. It can be hard to find the right potato for your climate that will produce TPS. i hope you kept the seeds! You may be able to start a new variety adapted for your area!

I didn't. Let's see if they come up out of the compost again this year. I get my potatoes from the same local farmer all the time, same varieties of potatoes.

Another comment on a previous post. I had to take a hunter's safety course and pass a test to get my hunting license in PA. I didn't realize it wasn't a requirement in all states. No wonder there are so many idiots running around with guns!

And lets face it - a pretty darned good, random joke.
