That is too cute! I like your diaper too, it's different than the ones I bought. I tried to use some last year on some of my birds, but they freaked out and were all but convulsing in an effort to get them off. It covered up their rail feathers completely. I ended up giving up and moving them all outside, and then was mad at myself because 2 of them died. One by the cold, and one by a predator.

But I'd like to try it again sometime, maybe with my BR pullet Hope. She LOVES coming and sitting at the computer with me. I keep food on the desk just for her, and she knows EXACTLY where it is, and goes straight for it. When she's done eating, then she likes to type.

But she will perch on my arm and watch the monitor too. It's too cute!

Hehe that is awesome! If she enjoys coming in there with you then I don't see why you shouldn't try it! Some chickens don't mind the diapers. Others do. I have been lucky to have all chickens that don't mind them.

I am sorry to hear about your babies that passed away though. It is never easy loosing a feather child *hugs*


I took Akello to my moms house today and while driving back home to pick up my husband from work..this is what she was doing the whole entire drive

She is such a goober! And please excuse how icky I look. It was midnight when that was taken and I was TIRED.

God, these pics and the story is so funny. I literally laughed out loud looking at the chickens, determined to be with mama, passed out and hanging off the desk. Someone mentioned her needing a place to roost. I think it's pretty clear she just wants to be with her mama. The car pic is hilarious. Please post more pics of her silliness. They just made my night!

She is so funny! The one of her on your shoulder looks especially funny because she's really quite big! (at least to me, but I have bantam chicks, so what do I know). She's so cute and lovable looking. When she was asleep did she just let you cover her like that without waking up? Too cute.

The earlier one of Sylar on the router was pretty cute, but the one of her checking out "down under" is silly too. I love all these pics! I don't mean to come off rude but sometimes well meaning chicken owners post some pretty dull pics, lol. These ones are just totally hilarious and cute.

I've seen threads on house chickens and diapers, etc., but I'll have to find them and read them in more detail. I would absolutely love to have one of my chicks grow up to be that way. Did I read that Akello didn't grow up as a house chicken? How did you get her and how did she come to be a house chicken?

Love your pics, as always!! Akello is so big!! I'm afraid that's what Chickpea and I are going to look like in another month.. Love your flaming diaper, I'm having a hard time keeping up with the diapers as mine is growing so fast.. I just chase her around with the vacuum all day long.. I really do need to get on that, though. Great pics, I love the under-there one

And I've seen the dead hanging chicken look, too. Scared the ba-cheesus outa me the first time

I also worry about Chickpea's sleep pattern, as I stay up late, but she takes naps during the day, and she's fine in her franken-coop if i don't let her out at a certain time, But she'll start singing when she hears me coming the stairs
