Funny story (:

Wow thank you. I mentioned it to my mom and we will definitely be going. I was hoping to find something like that that wasnt too far and that sounds perfect :)

That would be fun! Are you bringing any of your chickens/ducks?

Probably won't have any ducklings by then, they are laying but not sitting yet. and My chickens are mostly mixed so not many in the market for them, I have some pure breed chickens but my roos isn't he's mix of game/bantam.What I would like is a female Embden goose for my gander.

I discussed it with my mom and we're gonna bring some of our chicks to make room for a show silkie ( and hopefully

the ducks). After this, she says we're absolutely DONE growing our little farm lol

Okay I am pretty sure we are gonna get to keep them

So now I need a few more questions answered about their new home... Will she lay eggs in a nesting box if I provide one? And since they can't fly well, will I still need to cover their fence completely? Thank you all for your help once again.

she may use a nest box, my muscovies like to make their own nests by using the pine shaving i put down. a few have laid in the chickens nest boxes but their tails are stiffer so they don't really fit into it very well. as far as covering the top it is for their protection. Coons and other climbing preds can and will climb over and into to get to your ducks and chickens for that matter. you also have to think about those that dig and make sure your perimenter is good and safe from diggers. oh my gosh and forgot the best part your going to get to keep them...

Okay well what we're gonna do is build them a custom house out of scraps from the chicken coop, so I may just make their nesting box large and see what happens. If she lays in it, great. If not, I tried. They were sad that I didnt come home (to feed them) right after school so when we got home from the doc about an hour ago they waddled up in the yard looking for their daily dose of bread and chick feed lol

Only bad part about that is that we didnt realize they were there until after we let the dog out (

). He chased them back to the pond, didnt hurt em but scared em pretty good. Hes a 2 year old Border Collie mix and he just wants to herd sometimes, especially when I least want him to

. Im just hoping I can get him trained a little better by the time we are ready to let our chickies out to free range.
