I have to tell you cat lovers something funny my tom-cat Theodore has started doing. I recently switched to Downy liquid fab softener and I swear he acts just like those Febreze commercials(you know, the one where everyone is down on the floor huffing the carpet). I now can't keep him off of the clean laundry...he has his nose pressed into the laundry(eyes squeezed shut) smelling it and hugging up to it! He adopted me as an orphaned stray kitten last Thanksgiving and before him I was NEVER a cat person. I will say I'm smitten with him and he is my best buddy. DId I mention he acts more human than cat? Anyone else have quirky kitties?

My cat was terrified of the hens when they first arrived. He has learned that if he sits still when they come near him they ignore him. If he runs he gets chased and pecked if they catch him.

My cats appear to have a thing for the dryer sheets themselves. If a used sheet lands on the floor, they are all over it. What the heck is in that stuff? And plastic bags?

Cats are just delightfully weird.

I have one, adopted probably too young (I am pretty sure I was lied to and he was actually only 4-5 wks at the time), who seems to have adopted me as his role model. He drinks with his paw not his tongue (dipping paw in water bowl, then licking water off), and he heaves great loud dramatic sighs in pretty much the same situations that I would (e.g. 'are you going to give me a piece of that lovely roast chicken? no? ohhhhh...').

Another of our cats says her name, "Marie", instead of a normal meow. I am pretty darn sure she wasn't doing that at the shelter or for the first few days at home, but then I guess she noticed we were always saying "Marie" to *her*...

Hey, my Theo does that paw drinking thing too! And he will sigh like, "Good grief, I'm so bored I can't stand myself". How funny!

As far as the dryer sheets and fab softener in general...I think we should start a kitty support group on Fabric Softener Huffing Cats, lol.

Our kitty, Roxy, loves to nurse on the fluffy blankets and do her paws back and forth like she is nursing. She is 1 yr old and I thought she was weened, guess not.

Cats are way to funny. I have to tell you this story about my Teddy Wong (siamese and himalayan) and he goes out on a leash and collar, walks well too.
I took him up in the back yard to hang out with me and the chickens(assuming that the chickens would go else where!) but no siree, he began to walk away from them, his chocolate tail and well, you know...and one hen caught sight of his pink ducocus button in the midst of the brown and ran for it, poor Teddy never knew what he was infor when I scooped him up and took him to safety. I still have to laugh, this cat had no idea what 4 hens actually had in mind, but it would have shocked him I'm sure.

So yes, cats can be so funny! They love fresh clothes, people and they get their smell and scent on things! What a bunch of fools we are, but cats rule!
