"Then why would I spare you?" Earls raspy voice remained even. Any banter, even that with a pigeon, was intriguing for him.
He had few to talk to nowadays.
"I could be your friend. I could help you keep watch. I could do anything. Just please don't kill me. I really don't like pigeons. I even hate myself, I just think i could change. That's why i haven't given up on life yet." Pud said.

"Please don't kill me. I didn't know this was your territory." Pud said. "I'm too young to die."
"Please," Earl rasped. "They all say that. What reason do I have to spare you?"
A young raven previously consumed in the consumption of carrion curiously watched.
"I didn't know 'Old Earl' still knew how to fly straight..." he whispered in awe.
Earl growled.
"An unloyal pigeon or someone who will betray me in the end. Hmmm," Earl contemplated. "How can you help me, exactly?"
The young raven was frozen in shock and others had joined him, wondering when Earl would sic him.
Out of the gathered crowd, a large raven sauntered forward. "Earl." She cawed, considering him. Her black eyes looked over the young, trembling pigeon in his grasp and then snapped back to the old raven stooped over him. With a small smirk, she picked up a claw carefully and examined it. "Let's hear his story before you choke the poor bloke out." Shadow said, her voice both casual and somehow mocking. "Always fun to learn something before you kill a fellow."

"Sure why not?" Earl said.

(I deleted the other post. I didn't see this.

A small, white pigeon fluttered over to a wire, his black-tipped tail fanning as he tried to keep his balance. He glanced around nervously, as if afraid of being seen. Carefully, he scuttled sideways to get closer to the telephone pole, as if it would make him any less exposed.
Suddenly, the white pigeon heard flapping and flinched, cowering on the wire. A hulking slate-gray pigeon landed next to him. The cowering bird looked up. "Oh, uhm, I'm sorry, I-I thought you were a haw-"
"Silence." Suliver cawed, narrowing his eyes at the small bird. "You're Tippy, right?"
"Y-yes,"
"One of my birds told me about you." He rumbled, "Listen carefully, I need you to do something for me..."

"I hate the pigeon kind. Did i get to the point fast enough?" Pud said.
"Is that all? How much do you hate them? Why do you hate them?" Shadow cawed, an angry sort of frustration in her voice. "That's not interesting at all. C'mon now, give us a reason not to kill you!" Her tone almost suggested boredom, and her eyes held a glittering malice.
