"I'm worried about you! Is it wrong to be worried? Just yesterday I heard about a group of deserters and a seagull that beat up a lieutenant!" Spruce insisted.
"I ain't some adult diaper wearing old man who can't remember his own name, Spruce." He knew these terms because of all the time he spent around humans. "You don't need to take care of me. Your the one who needs worrying about. The day I join those gangs is the day I die."

"Man? Of course you're not a man, you're a pigeon." Spruce said, wondering if his old grandpa had started to spend too much time around the loud-stompers.
He clicked his beak in frustration. "Well, you need to stop being so selfish, then!" Spruce regetted what he said a second after it flew out of his beak, but he couldn't take it back.

"Selfish? I'm not the one worrying my Grandmother to death so he can go and prance around with a buncha buffoons and get himself killed." He growled. This was getting out of hand.

"I can take care of myself, you know." Spruce grumbled. "And if anyone gets themselves killed, it's not gonna be me." He snapped, diving off the perch and shooting away.

"Lots of things. Like humans, pigeons, sparrows, pigeons, uh..." Fish Sticks listed, mentally tallying all of what he knew about the city. "What? I travel!" He looked down at his oversized feet. "Well, I tried, once. A pigeon patrol instantly chased me out." He said sheepishly.

"I don't have to justify myself to you, egg-sucker!" Frog screeched, letting out an alarm call to summon the rest of his family.

"I'd rather learn how to defend the city than wing around like a carefree chick." Spruce muttered.

"I was only gone for a couple minutes," Cricket protested weakly. She felt guilty for leaving her helpless brothers alone. "Frog?" She glanced around, confused. "He went to get a couple berries. He should be back by-" just then, they all heard Frog's alarm call.

(Only if you want to. I'll play the dad or no one else will.)
"Pigeons, eh?" Riski mused. "They're known to be troublemakers in multiple countries. Usually not quite that organized though. Knew a pigeon that was a brother till the end... and his end was pretty quick. Got eaten by a dog. Or at least that's what they said."

Cricket instantly hopped off the branch at the sound of Frog's call. She flew towards where the alarm had come from. She spotted the raven, tucked in her wings, and dove at her.

"Another thing, grandpa," Spruce mumbled into the silence, "I want you to join Cement's gang. I'd feel better knowing you were safe."
Magnolia followed, though her dive-bombing was less graceful because of her lack of experience. You chick-stealers better not touch my friend! The much larger, unsuspecting raven's eyes widened as the small, shiny crow attacked her like a one-man-army.

Aspen squawked in surprise, quickly flitting to the left to dodge one of the crows dives. "Fine, whatever." She muttered before flying away, wishing that other birds didn't think that all ravens were jerks.

"Here they have a military. They drove out all the other birds from the city and no one has dared to stand against them since." Fish Sticks said. He was both in awe and frightened of the small, angry birds.

"Ha! Fly away like the cowardly raven you are!" Cricket cawed triumphantly. She circled Magnolia excitedly. "You did great!"
