~>Fury of the Wind<~ (A Bird RP)

Moonlight opened a silvery eye as the light just began to touch the horizon. It was quieter, more peaceful here in the forest. Normally, she would have awoken to the wail of a police siren or the obnoxious neighbors who nursed the habit of mowing their lawn at 6 A.M. Today it was the controlled chaos of a pre-dawn chorus of other birds. She glared at a yellow warbler who was singing from a spruce tree. He glanced at her before continuing his song. Apparently the songbirds were not educated in politics around here. In the city, one glance at a pigeon would send them flying.
"Are you up for a flight?" she asked Blizzard. He still had his head tucked under his wing.

"Darn pigeons?" A pigeon looked down at them. "I wouldn't insult pigeons when you can't even hear a enemy coming over the sounds of your eating." She scoffed.
Orbit glared at the pigeon.
"And I would recommend for you not to try to pick on someone that can easily hurt you." She snapped. She looked up at the pigeon and threatened her with her wings.
"Now shoo, we don't want pigeons like you here." She glared again.

Riski looked around. He was startled for a second but then remembered entering the RV the night before. He was used to waking up in unfamiliar surroundings. He stretched his enormous span, accidentally whacking the talky gull in the face. I’d really like to get something to eat.
He was about to flap through the window when he noticed the gull was opening a bleary eye, though it could just have been another phase of dreaming. Riski turned 180 degrees. “Hey... Fish Sticks is it? Is it safe to go back? To the bay?” The other gull was nowhere to be seen.
Ghostly, that’s what it is...

Magnolia awoke to a draftiness unlike her nest. As she realized where she was, in that creaky old barn was machinery slowly rusting away below her, she began to weep. “I want to go home...” she murmured, only to herself. Will I ever get to go home? she wondered. She wasn’t alone, but it felt as if the world was against her. She tucked her head under her wing and accepted the comfort and safety that sleep offered, leading her into quiet dream.

Ritz floated gently on the bay, sleeping peacefully.

Russet’s claws clicked along the pavement. Hadn’t something important happened yesterday? Hadn’t it rained the night before? If so, he couldn’t remember. He hated not remembering. He paced some more, spotting a stray piece of popcorn. He picked it up, before navigating towards where Cement roosted.
“Goof morning,” he said, waving the popcorn enticingly before her, fluffing his russet feathers.

*nanako had nodded off where she was perched, though it wasnt a deep sleep that she was in.*
Rocket was bouncing around on the window ledge. "Hey, Nana, let's get flying!" She cooed at her friend, who was still asleep. Rocket gazed at the wet landscape below her; puddles glistening in the early morning light, wet-looking cats, and, best of all, a gull sitting in the muddy water, looking right at home. She itched to teach that gull who was boss around here.

Blizzard mumbled something incoherent and fluffed himself up more. The birdsong and Moonlight's voice wasn't helping him ignore the dawn. It's too wet out there..
Orbit glared at the pigeon.

"Now shoo, we don't want pigeons like you here." She glared again.
"Yeah, what she said!" Trout said helpfully, spreading his wings in a bad imitation of Orbit.
The pigeon glared at them, obviously wondering whether she could take them both. At last, she growled, "You weaklings will be crushed by the wrath of the all-glorious pigeon military!" Before flapping away erratically into the chill morning air.

She laughed. "Well, you did help capture a hatchling crow and might have injured the one who was trying to get her back to her family." She mused. "Doesn't that sound a bit bad to you?" She asked, looking at him
Thattel looked a bit confused. "It doesn't," he muttered, then said louder, so she wouldn't start yelling at him again, "I mean, that's what we're supposed to do, isn't it? Ravens have always been the enemies of crows. We've fought all eternity, like it's said in the old stories." He cawed quickly, crouching down a bit in a submissive gesture. "Shadow says the treaty is only a ruse for the crows to steal all our land..." he trailed off, then added quietly. "Please don't shout again. I don't want them to lock you up."

She opened her beak, considering to shout at him, then closed it again. She sighed resignedly. "We're all just birds, trying to survive. So what if a crow wants to live in the same area as a raven? I was trying to help the little crow get back to her family when you all arrived. It's not right, taking a hatchling from its nest just for being a different type of bird."

Thattel stared at her with his head cocked. "You're a strange raven, you know that? Your opinion isn't shared by anyone I know. Except maybe Crazy Cat-Eyes." He mused, then shuffled his feet, realizing after he said it that it wasn't exactly a polite thing to say. "Anyway," he cawed, trying to change the subject. "Shadow's gonna give the chick back as soon as the crows agree to a deal." He lowered his voice and looked around as he said it. He didn't want the other ravens to hear he had just told the strange newcomer Shadow's plan.
