“Nana! Crisis incoming!” Rocket cooed, flapping over to her. She wanted to fight, but at this point she had no idea who to fight. Or who to fight for. She hopped from one foot to another.
The pigeons ascended.

Nanako: he said they'd crossed into their territory by accident while trying to find their own home to settle. I don't believe that's enough to deserve what seems to be coming.

“Please don’t kill us!” shouted a mother pigeon, covering her nest with her wings protectively.
Pita, a young male pigeon, took it upon himself to defend hearth and home. After all, he had unhatched siblings to worry about. He launched himself at Nanako with a coo. “Horrible Sulliver cronies! Leave my family alone!” He slammed into her.

“Whether they deserve it or not, it’s happening!” Rocket said, her voice veering into a surprised squeak as a gang pigeon shot out of the sky and bowled her over. He was not from her gang, though his gang was closely allied with Suliver. Rocket, preoccupied, didn’t notice Nanako being attacked.

Blizzard flapped into the air and met a pigeon before she could hit the ground. They grappled together, losing altitude quickly. Maybe not my best idea!

The pigeon grasped the pigeon automatically, filled with confusion. She couldn’t slow down in time and Blizzard became a nice cushion for her.
“What?” she asked, staring at Blizzard in confusion. Wait, I’m supposed to be attacking you.
She began to claw him.

“Because you’re attacking us,” Pita pointed out reasonably. “And Splash said so.”

Nanako: doi really look like a part of that murderous flock. My friend is a part of your group, I'm not gonna fight you.

“I mean, yeah,” Pita said. “You look like a pigeon. Sulliver’s gang is comprised of pigeons. Whatever.”
He flew up into the sky and flew heroically toward a pigeon with far more experience than himself.
