~>Fury of the Wind<~ (A Bird RP)

The quick scouting birds of Cement’s gang arrived at the scene of the battle. The gang pigeons were gone. They looked about, aghast. It was a terrible scene. Speedy shook his head sadly. Broken egg shells, blood, and feathers were scattered everywhere. Along with the carcasses of pigeons, many of which had been their friends. The scout group spread out to look for survivors.
Russet's anger was inflamed by this sight. His crop swelled to twice its usual size. His words came out, harsh and coarse. "I can't believe anyone would do this," he said, staring at a bloodied hatchling's body, twisted and contorted on the ground.
Nickel had come along. He stared forlornly at Blizzard. His idol, shattered. He saw the pigeon lying beside him, the glass razor talon somehow aimed for Blizzard's bloodied breast even in death. "Serves 'her right," he squeaked in a broken voice, a voice filled with a mixture of hatred and grief.

Pearl stared out at the carnage, her expression dark. She turned to Russet. “They gotta pay,” she said, “they gotta pay for this.”
Beaks, searching for survivors, came across the young male, Pita. He saw his breast rise and fall. “Hey! This one’s alive!” He cooed. He nudged the pigeon with his small beak, noticing that his wing was at an odd angle. Hope that wing recovers. He thought anxiously.
(@Anime2lover was Dane injured in the battle or did he escape/hide?)

“Eye.” Rocket corrected quietly. When her friend looked at her weirdly, she shrugged. “Sorry.”
Barnacles stopped struggling. He scowled. He peered at her foot, craning his head so his one good eye could see it. Seeing no razor-talons, he reluctantly grumbled. “That don’t prove anything, but I reckon a gang bird woulda killed me already.”
Rocket looked at Nanako, question in her eyes. Should they let him up?

Cement spared a glance in his direction. “Was that all he said?” She queried, wondering at the gull’s hesitation. From what she knew of them, gulls were relished and were rather good at relaxing.

Russet and the main battalion appeared on the horizon after a scout went back to their stealthy hiding place to tell them the coast was clear.
(sorry I can't resist puns you'll have to live with the following post)
"No!" Ritz burst out. Put on the Ritz now, don't be stupid. "He said the gulls will help you, but he does have one demand." Ritz's voice had succeeded in not being too trembly as of yet. "The gulls wish to return to the city. There are two ways that we think this can be accomplished. We will assist you in preventing the coup. General One-Toe will be indebted to us and will have to allow the gulls to live in the city. Or... if the coup succeeds and there's a..." What was it Sebastian had said again? How was it phrased? "If there's a provisional government, we will establish you as the leader of the pigeons."

Nanako: would a gang bird have killed him for such a reason?? *she didn't really want to kill anyone needlessly.*

*Dane had stayed to fight but had been knocked out of the sky by an enemy pidgeon, was currently out cold.*

Pita opened his eyes. "Don't kill me!" he squealed. "Please don't kill me! Killanybodyelsejustleavemealone."
"I agree. They gotta pay," said Russet. His crop deflated as he let out a sigh that Riski would be proud of. "But first, the best thing we can do is take care of the dead properly and respectfully. And tend to the living." His orange eyes were firey as he stared around the morbid landscape. Caring for the dead was just as noble as the revenge business they'd have to get into later.

Cement’s expression didn’t change throughout Ritz’s speech, but her mind was racing. Of course the gulls would want equal rights in the city. Some pigeons would be nervous to see them flying freely above the streets, but their alliance was well worth it. “Tell him I agree to his conditions.” Who is Fish Sticks, anyway? He must be some leader.

Rocket hesitated a moment, then nodded. “Yes.” She answered, her coo unusually quiet.
Barnacles glared up at them, tense and ready for attack.

Pearl cooed in agreement.
“Hey, it’s alright, youngling.” Beaks said. He ducked his head under Pita’s good wing and helped him up. “Your other wing is hurt, don’t move it.” He cautioned.

Trenton checked each pigeon for life, sorrow filling him at every dead bird. He paused by a puddle, then peered at the young black pigeon sprawled besides it. He turned the limp pigeon over. He’s breathing! Trenton gently shook Dane with his foot.

Nanako: will you attack if we let you go? *she could tell her friend wanted to.*

“No.” Barnacles said.
Rocket, after getting affirmation from Nanako, stepped off the raven’s wing. She stared at him cautiously, then heard the voices of the scouts for the first time. She hopped onto a nearby boulder. “There’s pigeons over there! None that I know. They seem to be searching for something.” Are they gang pigeons come to finish off any survivors?

Trenton shook Dane again. After getting no response, he called to the others. “Hey, I need some help here!”
Speedy came over to regard Dane.
“You sure he’s alive?”
“Yeah! He’s breathing!”
Speedy squinted at him. “Are you sure?”
Feathers, Speedy, you’re blind as a bat. Your parents shoulda named you ‘No-Eyes’.” Trenton said. “Yeah, I’m sure.”
Pearl flapped over to investigate. Getting a gist of the situation, she lifted off, then hurled herself into the nearby puddle, splashing Dane (and, unfortunately, Speedy and Trenton) with cold water.

*Dane woke with a start when she was surprised. He looked at the other pidgeons with a dazed expression for a few moments before rolling over and getting to his feet.*

*nanako slowly release the other wing as well.*
