Fuzz ??

When does it all go away and turn to feathers?
My Plymouth and Rhode still have neck fuzz at 9 weeks and when does that go?
All of them still have fuzz tushies galore so when will that go byby or does it?

My last batch of BRs were fully feathered by 10 weeks, but it can be environmentally influenced (that was a spring batch, this batch is summer/fall and maturing differently). The BR girls still have "fluffy" butts - it is more of a down than pinfeathers on that area - so you may not notice lots of changes there. I imagine a lot of the maturing time has to do with variations between different breeds.

My BR (and her EE, BA, dom and wellie flockmates) were fully feathered all over, except for their heads and faces at about 6 weeks. The rest feathered in by week 7/8, and they started semi-molting around 9 weeks and continue to drop a lot of feathers and get in a whole lot more larger and brighter feathers....especially the BR, who is really starting to show her pattern and clean lines now. All of them still have fluffy butts (beneath their vents and just behind their legs, though....just the type of feathers they develop there, I guess. Super soft.

My chicks are four weeks wednesday-tuesday and about ready to go into her ugly stage.. lol

Totally depends on the environment; mine this year are fully feathered at 6 weeks (which is just wild). Anyway once they're down to just neck fuzz, figure about a week I'd say. And even adults have fuzzy bums XD
