I feel your pain! Still noThey got another scolding this evening...still zero eggs.
Last night it was down in the low 20°s. I checked on the flock before I went to bed as sometimes one of the Dominiques is roosting by herself. They were all on the main roost, facing towards the tarped end, and snuggled up against each other.
Cold birds of a feather roost close together!
Tamar is one of the younger Dominiques, has not started laying, and she's the only one doing a minor molt. I think the main culprit is Hannah, who acts like she's the boss...except to Martha...she NEVER bosses Martha! When I was raising my Wyandottes, I had a similar issue. They did not fight but 1 pullet was not allowed to roost beside the other 4. This 1 always entered the coop last and roosted alone about 2ft away. They had no problems eating together.
I just watched them and made sure the 1 got in and roosted at night. When they all started laying this behavior stopped.
I never did figure out the cause.
