Taking a break, sipping coffee and listening to birdsong...and I just had a thought.

Have you ever seen a roost/shelter made from two pallets attached in an A frame?

:hmm :pop:cool:

I've got a lower roost for juveniles that is a pallet on edge braced with concrete blocks.

I'm down to less than 20 fender washers, and there are some areas of HWC that I want to "batten down". I was going to order from Amazon again but maybe a trip to Walmart :shudder: is on my agenda for Friday morning. Thanks!
Walmart was a bust. They had bags of 4 or 6 fender washers for $1.00, but none 1/4"x1", no 1/4" ID at all!
:barnie

Hubby came out, offered to help. I put a small cheaper tarp across the back and covering the rough edges of the HWC across the top, THEN added the heavy duty 8'x12' tarp on top of that. Breeze comes from the north side (opposite of the woods) so we brought it farther to the ground on that side. I could feel a slight breeze across my feet while standing inside.

The back...gray tarp on top needs some sort of tie-downs, maybe bungees horizontally across from grommet to grommet?

Home Depot or Lowes. 100 count packs 3/16" or 1/4" ID, 1" OD. They ship. Also, of course, Amazon.
It'll be Amazon. They have 100 packs for about $12. I try to buy local as much as I can, but can't afford 70¢ each for washers.

Be sure to take a look at this post by @21hens-incharge for a great way to tarp a hoop coop/run.

They can also be purchased on Amazon:

There is an "EZ" option that slides on and off a little bit easier, depending on what you want.

When I built my hoop run last year, I went with these and they work great. I stuck with them in my recent hoop tractor.

I'm not sure how they compare price-wise for you ... but they sure are nice from a simplicity standpoint.
