Looking good!

Just a note -- sometimes it's the "friendly" boys who turn aggressive when they get hormonal. If you've got room you might eliminate all but a couple and see how they are as the hormones hit.

I use those Australian standards for my Australorps too.

Since I'm not showing I don't need to invest in that $$$ standard book.

Would the breeder who sold you the chicks be willing to help advise you?
Thanks. I think I will stick with the best looking three, rehome the other 4, then take it from there.

When I contacted the breeder for suggestions about getting rid of the extra cockerels she suggested Craigslist. I got the impression that she wasn't interested in helping.

The breeder/judge in FL that I emailed out of the blue was much more helpful. I've considered contacting her again.

Friday Update

A friend of mine has done cat/dog rescue, and offered me yet another crate today. I said "yes!"

The Dominiques are now out of their brooder.

The weather is warm, they're mostly feathered, and haven't been using the MHP recently.

What do you think?

I stuffed some clean straw underneath the pet carrier shelter.

The Sussex are very, VERY interested.
