My previous cockerels sold for $5 each, but there was a bidding war for Fleck/Purple, he sold for $30!

Zip-ties arrived in the mail today. All the Sussex have been upgraded.

One of the Dominiques leaped up onto my lap while I was replacing leg rings on one of the Sussex pullets. And Joel attacked my shoe laces, again, probably in protest!

I'll replace the Dominiques' leg rings soon. I have more colors to choose from with the zip-ties.

Aside from some mosquitoes it's comfortable inside the hoop coop. There's no direct sun, and I can feel a slight breeze now and then.

Sun shade is working nicely.

Has she started kicking all the bedding out of the nestboxes? My POL pullets do that every time as they get close to laying.

Not yet.

I check the nest boxes every day, and it's the same straw and fake egg in each.
