Went out to the coop after dark, and saw that the Dominiques were roosting back on top of the bales.

I put them up on the new roost. Look at all that room!

I think the Sussex are keeping the Dominiques from getting up on the roost.

Once everyone is laying they'll mix more. :)

I'm doing my best to not be impatient... :rolleyes:

When I moved the Dominiques last night one was highly agitated, flapped her wings, one was only slightly upset, but the other two just "clucked" a little as I moved them.

If you put your hand behind their feet and press against their ankle they'll step up and you can carry them like a parrot. I find that causes less panic than grasping them around the wings.

Of course I only do that inside the coop so that they don't jump off and get lost.
