After I get back from vacation I'll set up a brooder, with food and drink available, and confine Naomi.

I can't expect my 76 yo sitter to be doing more than basics: checking food levels, water levels, and collecting eggs.

Someone did some illicit snacking...

It's not empty, but it has lost some of the mustard...

So...I left for Kentucky yesterday. We're having a nice visit. I texted a video to my chicken sitter.

He texted back "That hen that wouldn't move? She was sitting on 5 eggs!" He brought them in the house...


I called him and told him to put back the eggs. She's supposed to be sitting on them, she's brooding!

He put them back. I hope she gets back on them.


There's nothing I can do, I won't be home for 48 hours.

I usually post similar information at both sites, consecutively, but I fell asleep...grandchildren are exhausting though wonderful.

Going to do a walk through the yard in a few, before it gets stinkin' hot. Of course I did do a headlamp check last night once I got home (it was a LONG day, arrived about 8:30pm), but every bird was in their usual bedtime spot.
