Good girl, Esther! We're all rooting for you!!

She looks so cozy. She's in very good hands.

Silas and most of his gals eating crushed eggshells. The OEGB are the only ones laying, looks like they've gained status.

Not in the photo is Esther. She's finally finished her molt, hope she and the Dominiques start laying soon.

Rooting for Esther too. Hopefully it is the hard molt and she will be getting better from here!

She won't drink, eat from the dish, but did eat more eggs from my hand. There's a smell, and a smear of near the door.

No improvement. Esther won't eat, but did drink when I held the cup in front of her beak.

I brought her out of the crate, set her down.

She didn't take a step, or try to move, but eventually settled down a little on her left side. She did look around some, but not much.

Room was not brightly lit. I used flash here.

She ejected this mess

which smelled like rotten eggs.

But all she ate today was scrambled egg.

Any input?

She's NOT perking up.

I'm no expert, but you are giving her great supportive care. She's on Corid for day two, correct?

I think you could still try some electrolytes--just no B vitamins recommended with Corid, right? Or is sugar contraindicated, too?

Is she besties with anyone she could have as a safe roommate?

I wish I had more ideas... Short of an antibiotic (and I wouldn't know which kind to try--I'm assuming this is either reproductive or a GI related infection, but that's still just a total guess!!!) I wouldn't know what else to try.

Poor girl. I might try antibiotics at this point. You can syringe her some baytril if you have that?

Nope. I have Corid and electrolytes, and slippery elm bark. I've not needed antibiotics in three years, and as they lose potency I don't have any on hand.

I wonder if she has an internal laying problem. Or inflammation of her ovaduct.
