Okay, I'll put my foot in it because I do that regularly anyway - LOL! You've GOT to vote. So many people over the decades have died to give us that opportunity. And if you are a woman, it's even more serious. Check out what the suffragettes went through to give us that ability. Whether your dem or repub or something else, you've got to step up because when a country becomes apathetic about what they believe it's the first step toward unrest. We may not like the candidates but it's up to us to research their stands and pick what works. If you don't vote, you are allowing someone else to have power - whether that's a big corporation, a well-run campaign or a false television ad. And locally, it's important to have a voice in your state questions - many this year focus on funding for education and undoing taxes for corporations - both important issues.

Okay, sorry, that's my soapbox. Everyone runs from me when it's election time...

Well, actually I'm not sorry. I really believe in all that. In Norman the mayoral race was decided by 7 votes. One candidate was a developer who wanted to open the watershed areas around the lake to high occupancy development. Would have essentially drained the lake of water as it's the main water source. Thankfully he was defeated - but by ONLY 7 votes so EVERY vote counted. It's so important.
