What On Earth Happened To My Silkie?!

For all you living in Oklahoma, you probably experienced the storm we had. I woke up at 5 AM to a really loud clap of thunder. But, anyway, Isabella, my white silkie, decided it would be fun to run around in the rain. So, when I went to the chicken coop, what I saw was a much smaller white chicken, which sounded like Isabella, but looked nothing like her! She had gotten wet and was completely shrunken (her fluffy feathers were damp, so they didn't stick up all poofy-like). Her crest just made me laugh out loud. It was so funny looking because it had three little wet feather clumps, where all her fluffy feathers were matted together.

She was completely unrecognizable! She will be getting a bath for sure!

Hmm. DH's lovely family next door released about 5-6 of them into the woods behind the house :( One came running in the day because he must've been on the ground, and my cat had spooked him. (My cat don't hunt, unless it's something really small). He scared the dickens out of my and the birds, though, but it looked like he was just scared and really thirsty. (I think he should've still been with a mother) I was really mad at them, releasing a bunch of babies out to a dried up creek. DH I easily caught him with some gloves and DH brought him far into conservation where there was plenty of other possom tracks and fresh water. I have always wondered if the others made it out, if they will come to the chickens when they get desperate........now i know :(
