It was like that when my mom got shingles. Took her to see her dr. He told her since she didn't come when they first started to show up, there was nothing he could do except give her pain management... HA! I was like, oh, hello, no, I do not think so. I went did a bunch of reading/research, and finally found what I was looking for. She was cleared up in two weeks. No residual pain or nothing. Same with my UC... I was told it would eventually lead to crohns or colon cancer, but it would just have to be managed. In less than 3 months after my diagnosis, cleared up! And what was I told? Musta been misdiagnosed cuz there was no way I could have cured myself with food and supplements. This was 8 years ago...  Now more and more people are turning to holistic/naturapathy because it does work. Everything starts in the stomach. Your stomach is your immune system. If your stomach is feed garbage, then your immune system can become garbage, and your body can become garbage. I am not saying natural is the only way, or necessarily the best way. BUT it is an option that should be considered. More people are doing it, and the big pharma's are getting pissy and trying to shut it down, or get control of it. Its in congress right now, trying to get laws passed that would pharmaceuticalize/require perscript for what we like to get from the health food/natural foods store. Make it so you can't treat yourself naturally.

I started this message several hours ago... I had to rush my little guy to the ER. He and his brother were coming around the corner from different directions at full speed. SO, you have a 35 pound kid collide with a 90 pound kid... and a corner... This round went to the 90 pound kid and the corner. Aiden has 3 stitches in his forehead. He was so good though when they had to put him in the papoose to hold him down. When they gave him the numbing shots in his split, he only wimpered and told the doctor to cut it out. LOL, he didn't cry, just kept breathing deep when it hurt and he was just amazing for a three year old. They had a nurs holding his head and one holding his legs. He didn't even struggle or freak out at all. They were all impressed by how calm he was. The Doc was totally expecting him to have a screaming fit. I was expecting him to have a fit.

Anyway, one hell of a head ache but no concussion. Going to bed now. Have a good nite.

Oh wow. Glad he's okay. That's one tough little guy. I would have just freaked out because I was confused. Like my dad, I'm pretty much just stuck in a perpetual state of confusion.

Well, i read a lot, that's how i picked up so much. My pet hen that died was never strong, she had so many things go wrong in her life Most of what i know was picked up during my frantic reading during those times. I have a link in my siggy if you want to browse! Other than that, read that book i recommended a few times Good way to kill time in the winter.

Got it ordered! I've read all your info in your sig and printed out bunches. I've got notebooks started for the goats and the chicks so I can flip to sections on worming, feed, etc. It's so helpful cause my brain just doesn't remember all this stuff...

I so believe all this, Nova. It works amazingly and yes, big pharma wants to control/regulate it. And women are often denigrated for believing in the power of natural cures because it meant that they were actually smart. That wasn't a good thing to be in the 12th century - witch burnings etc for women who were just curing illnesses using herbs and natural methods. It's still around today but we hide it under things like 'regulation'.

I'm so sorry about your little guy. He sounds very brave. Having had three boys we were regular visitors at the emergency room also.

Everyone needs one of those occassoonally. Yay for the hair cut. The good thing about getting older is that you realize that it REALLY DOESN"T matter what anyone else thinks. You've only got one life and it's yours, no one elses. And high school/jr high kids can be really seriously mean. Kind of like the chicks get sometimes when they peck at another chick because it has something 'different'. It's actually a species thing to keep the species 'true' and strengthen the genes. But humans are long past that need - we just do the mean part without thinking about it. The smartest people I've met are those who just follow their own path and know, and stay true, to who they are within and what they believe. Sounds like you are one of the ones who can do that. Good for you!!

Well we can't stop it! Winter is coming! My deck and grass were white last night. I have also found that most of the time what is in the west works it's way here. (unfortunately) Had to check road reports for DH this morning and if he wants to work his way home, he has to throw chains.

Okay... Long story...
My BF is very tall and very skinny... his family has thyroid issues mostly hypo but I think he may be hyper...
He can eat and eat and eat and never gain an ounce... on several occasions he has eaten until he pukes.
His friend just recently got into a health kick after being very ill... He recomended magnesium to BF... I was wondering what that would help him with????

On a slightly different note, I took a selenium tablet yesterday morning, took a nap with the kids after noon, and when I woke up, I wasn't able to stop cleaning!
I think I will take another with lunch! I will get this house clean yet!
I must have needed it!
