Fuzzy's Farm

Well, one of the "chicks" has to go as well, me thinks. That guy is snatching on everyone's neck, ripping feathers out! Everyone is scared to come off the perch near him as well............. I do think he's getting that way too, or gonna be that way as a teen as well......... I really don't need a mean roo, no matter what the age. Winter is here, if i am not harsh than come winter i run the chance of a hen dehydrating from not enough water. No way!

Has anyone else had a 8 week cockeral that was mean already??
I wouldn't say he was mean, but the gs roo we had last year was one that started to challenge us at an early age. He was getting near crossing the line when nature took its course with him.
I made my famous chocolate cream pie. My kids and grandkids will kill for that lol. And it's nothing but cooked pudding put into a graham cracker crust with cool whip on top.

They always say " Mom, you got to bring chocolate pie."
Know what? My mom makes the same thing and we love it, too. And the funny thing is, when I try to make it it never tastes the same. LOL

If any of you listen to country, have you heard "red on a rose" by alan jackson?

I'm wandering off to listen to some music, relax with some tea :) I am contemplating my saddle sewing, probably do it tomorrow. May cut out some pieces tonight, sew some tomorrow :)

I gave the word on my red rooster, "blue".  :(  It sucks, but he tried to get on a hen that was roosting, and that's just too much for this little coop. , this guy knocked his sis right off the perch after essentially mauling her, he just does not get what he's supposed to be doing. The other rooster is not doing that. Blue's always trying, i think he's gonna be like his daddy.......... I can't handle another rooster related death. I know plucky didn't mean what happened, but all the same.......

If you have some adult hens, I would put him in with the big boss girl. She'll teach him some manners if you don't have pity and take him out. We've straightened out several young cockerels this way.

No, i only have 2 hens right now. 1 is his sis, who has just come of age, and the other is a new auction hen that is very un-dominant. That was an excellent idea, though......... I wish i had not let the mean orpington go, she'd have shown him! lol. That or the neighbor's production red, that girl even had spurs........ ha ha ha. Boy, i saw that girl beat up my roos more than once, little spitfire! :D

It's what i get for only selecting the most friendly girls, they just don't have an ounce of meanness. Come spring i'll have cocoa's 2 daughters, the two blue hens (painfully shy) and whatever roos are sweet.
