Fuzzy's Farm

Yes, i looked at the site. I see houses within my budget, there and other sites, but i have bad credit! Uugh.
If i could get a loan, i would be living dirt cheap. But no, i probably have to rent, so it's gonna be double. :( Even back when i had NO credit they wouldn't give me a loan, they always said bad was better than none, well they lied! That's why i'm thinking trailer, then i can have a bedroom for the girls. :D I'm thinking big aviary, shabby chic style with a couch, lol. Nobody gotta know.
Idk, i'll keep trying. go talk to a realetor, and whatnot. Another thing that's gonna be against me is that i haven't had this job for long enough. :( That's why i wanna find a girl roomie, and we could both plunk as much savings away as we could........no guys though. I'm going nuts trying to do the career thing and the home thing too.

Not as bad as peeing myself (yea i probably would've if my brakes hit the floor! lol)

buuut , I got to deal with an atom cloud of mold dust, curtosy of the spaghetti dinner that i didn't schedule but i ended up buying, cleaning up after . I gave it a week, trying to not do it; so i get the atom bomb. Never seen anything like it! I saw the green fuzz, so i hit it with the sprayer and POOF! the whole kitchen was suddenly foggy and green!

So i ran and grabbed the lysol............. tried to dump it down the disposal and you guessed it POOF!
rant.gif

So i had to pick it up and dump it in a bag, lysol the room again, and tied it and sent DH off since "he's allergic to mold". I needed a minute anyway.

Here are the requested pics, i did what i could before the batteries got cold and died. I didn't get too many of the babies and the adults, but i did as many as i could of the black and white baby and the d'uccles: (Pardon the poop, i had to do the pics before i did my daily scrape out)

This is the look i got when the EE trio took a look out the door

Clearly, they had their doubts! I booted them out anyway to let the little guys eat in peace :p

Maurice's poopy feet. I trimmed in the fall, some have grown and some are still short but you can see that even the middle toe is fully feathered! These feather feet are poop tracking machines though ! I had to skimp on the chips 'till mon so i could get the de-icer, which is working beautifully. :)

Being manly

and now he's happy!

Almost nonexistent wattles.......

definitely not the best pic for this, but some of the feathers have the barest of white; i have read that some boys are slower to get their tail spots so this does show promise.........

Another side shot, would this be considered 5 points? That is the standard for the combs;
you can see his colors good here too.

and a front view of his chest

now for the girls, first i'll do sissy (d'uccle)
poopy feet

and sharma, the booted girl

and here's the d'uccles together, you can see my water dish here. I have a handled rubber dish (I originally intended to do it manually without electric) I wrapped the cord around the handle a couple times so it don't get yanked out of the dish. That dish sits in another rubber dish, so it don't set on the cold floor; between the two of them the water shouldn't need much help being de-iced. One difference i'm not sure of is that this unit is keeping the water warm, as opposed to the dog dish i used before; that only kept it clear. I have felt the bottom of the dish, it is not hot and the unit is not hot, so it must be what it's supposed to do. I think it's kind of nice anyway, having a nice warm drink on a cold day :)

and here's the unnamed black and white, and the gold and black
For sure pullet looking for a home this spring:

Still don't know, but no real comb development and the saddle feathers look short and blunt,
no shiny narrow ones like the for sure roo!
fl.gif
Also needing to be rehomed

Not the best pic, but see, the comb isn't there, the for sure roo has a little comb going on

his is taller, redder. Also he chest-bumped with the other for sure roo i had, the
one with the huge comb and testosterone issues. The black and white didn't

all the butts in a row :D

-Try soaking his feet in Dawn and warm water. Soak them for about 5 minutes or so, then try to rub out the poop with your fingers. Sophie has that problem too..............

-Looks good! You don't really want any wattles on d'Uccles. He has a really nice beard and muffs. His stance is good. If you want to show him try to keep his vulture hocks in good condition. They get really raggedy really easily, and once that happens they take a long time to be normal again.

-Nice big comb. I would consider that 5 points, but a judge might call it six because of that little thing on the end.

-My Oscar (1 year in Feb.) still doesn't have the spots on his tail, but Jerkface (3 years in April) has a lot more spots, even though it took him a long time to get it in. Porcelains and Millie Fleurs take awhile to get their full color in. Porcelains start out mostly white (except roosters, who are more of a pale yellow color with blue tails), then as they get older more blue comes in, then when they hit about 2 white comes in OVER the blue. With Millie Fleurs they start out mostly red with a little black on the tips of their feathers, then as they get older they get more black, and then when they are about 2 they start getting white over the black. Eventually the base color will almost disappear.

-Nice. His wing is a little off but that looks like it will be normal after he molts.

-He's got a nice shape. Good stance. :)
Nice bird. :)

Ok... Here is the cake. Yes, there is a beak too, but it doesn't show upas well as I had hoped. I ended up resorting to a paint brush to get some definition in. Not the best looking cake I am sure, but hello, I have never made a chicken on a cake before. LOL

Yes, come spring they will definitely need a good bath and freshening! I will put more chips in now that it is cold again. That should help a little.

How long between foot feather moulting? I trimmed in the fall because they had trouble getting around; they are very long when full! With the hawk snooping around i didn't take chances of them tripping while running;

Generally i protect these like fort knox, and they do seem to understand and stay close, they are shy but if i'm careful and don't panic they will allow me to scoop them up in the event of an alarm from the roo. I don't take chances! I NEED a covered run, even if it's a short thing just to keep them in a safe place while i do my coop cleaning!

I like it! Cool yellow sky! All you need now is a dandelion! (i know a boy cake, lol)

I am seriously getting frustrated with the babies and their tail pulling! They aren't messing with the grown in feathers, but when they are part in and they see the delicate bristly stubb, they give a yank and peck and then there goes blood everywhere! I will be sooooo glad when they finish feathering, if this continues i am going to have to make some blankie things to go over their backs and cover their butts!
