I'm still here, just not in a posting kind of way. I've been popping in and out mainly. Last month was crazy busy for me. August was fully booked for me before July even ended. Tons of work, appointments, practices, birthdays, parades, etc. It was so bad I even had to double and triple book a lot of days just to get through it all. Made it through, though, with my sanity still intact. Yay me!

The only thing that has actually threatened my sanity this past month was my looming birthday. It's a milestone year and I have been going through fits of being depressed/upset. All I can say is that DH, my kids, and DHs family did a great job in keeping my mind off of it this past weekend. Thanks to them, not only did I get through turning 40 on Tuesday, but I did it with a more upbeat attitude towards it. Basically woke up and said I'm going to go out, live it up and have fun. So I did. Still am, too.

Nova, it must be a good wisdom teeth time. My oldest DD is getting her bottom ones out on Thursday. She was supposed to get them out at the end of August, but she just got a new job (@ Tim Horton's- anyone want a donut?) and her boss didn't give her the time off so we had to re-schedule. This time she got the time off so it's a go. She's not looking forward to it, but is liking the 2 days off school she'll get.

Hi Tee. Glad to see you. 40? You are just a baby - LOL! I know how busy is - crazy time. Maybe now we are starting into fall things will calm down.

We have a goat with a sore leg so taking her into the vet this morning. I think she just sprained it - I hope. And then I need to make casseroles to take to a student of DH's that just got out of the hospital. There's always something.

Yes GD loves the chickens. It's the first and last thing she does when she comes out. Gathers the eggs and then loves on all the chicks!

Hi all. I am in need of re-homing some chickens. We have 40, but I need to reduce the number to a more manageable and affordable size. I have 4 boys: Newton (ee), Neil (barred rock), RubyDoo (mille fluer), and a white silkie. The rest are all laying hens. There are barred rock, rhode island red, new hampshire, buff orp, isa, white silkie, ee, silver laced wyandotte, jersey giant, leghorn and black sex link. Hi All, Just thought I Would pass on some FYI that may or may not affect you.
Compliments of the storm Mother Nature sent thru here the other night a tree came down on one of our storage sheds.
Insurance adjuster was out yesterday and I was informed that my regular "Homeowners Policy" I have had since 2001 in now no longer in effect.
The reason being I have "Farm Critters". What? Serious! You have got to be kidding! For a dozen chickens and a few geese.
Before he left my driveway he had already contacted my agent. My agent contacted me later in the afternoon told me she had to take this to the 'Parent Company' and get back with me on Monday. She doesn't know if it will have to be re-written as 'farm or country estate'
I had, had the foresight to check with township to see if I could have poultry 8 acres zoned residential but, never thought to check with the insurance company. DH said,
$#@%^&%# another way for them to get more $$.
Will let you all know the update.

??? Never hard of such a thing. I'd ask a lawyer after requesting a copy of the printed policy and reading all the fine print of your original policy.

Yeah, the bleeding finally stopped. ugh! I still need to have one on the other side out, so then that wisdom tooth can come down. I am looking at atleast $400 in dental work to finish. I can say though, that as of this point, my mouth no longer feels like it is in a vice. My cheek, however, hurts all the way over to my nose. Swelling is minimal. WOOT.

Tee, how's your girl today? Hope she's better. I ended up not having my wisdom done at all. They pulled the molars next to the wisdoms instead. The hope is that the wisdom will move down to fill those gaps instead, and finish coming out of the gums. The wisdom on the right side upper is completely under the gum, the wisdom on the upper left is 3/4 under the gum yet. The wisdom on the bottoms are both out all the way, and he's not forseeing any problems with those too. I need to have one more molor taken out though on the upper left and a cap on the bottom right. No fillings needed though. Capping the molor because I managed to crack it. Go figure. That's how I broke an upper molor. Jaw Beakers. Gee... Guess they are jaw breakers for a reason.

Rusty, that sounds crazy. We should probably check on that also. Hi Tee. Wish I were closer and I would take some of your girls. I've lost 2 of my hens lately and am just bummed.
Hi Fuzzy, how's the trailer coming?

I just finished with my last weekend class FOREVER! WOOT!! I'll really miss my students but not miss the getting up at 4 on weekends and teaching until 10. And funny thing, I think the thing I will miss the most is the sound of the bells that ring across campus when the hour changes. It's so pretty, especially if you are walking between buildings and there's students all hurrying here and there. Ah nostalgia. I still have 3 regular classes that won't end until Dec. My DH says that once I'm gone I won't miss it as much as I think. I hope so.
