HEHE, hey there lazy girl!

Well, I put an 8x10 tarp over the top of the summer/winter conversion. I then tacked the tarp under the over hang of the tuftex to the wall, and tacked it to the 4x8 coop on the other end... I am going to have to get a pair of 2x4 for the sides as well so they sandwich the ends. I put the tarp grey side up. LOL.

Anyway... Need to work on the pen tomorrow too. Going to be a fun day tomorrow. I have to make rice for Jace for school. He didn't want to bring in cupcakes or cookies for his b-day, he wants Mexican rice. He's lucky I was married for so long to a Mexican that I still remember how to make it. Yup... the type with potatoes and green/red peppers, tomato sauce, garlic... I asked him if he wanted the saffron or the tomato... He said, Huh?? So, I asked, red or yellow. LOL. It's the red he wants. I personally like it with saffron better... but it isn't about me now is it.

Has anyone actually managed to make a mean rooster nice? I really want to try that with my rooster, Merlin. He is very aggressive, now. I have to watch my back constantly. I think that part of the problem is having a small pen with 15 hens and 4 roosters. Would it help if we gave him a pen with his own hens?

I just got in from putting up tarps on the run (ran out of time last night, when it actually snowed ). I'm glad we don't have neighbors......they'd probably laugh to see me up there, in my coveralls, precariously using the wire as a foot grip, trying to cut some wire while holding myself up by the elbows.

I need to start a fire then go wrap presents. Everyone asks me to do it cuz I got mad skillz. jk

Then I need to go finish two papers for English. It's the end of the semester and they're due by 8 tonight.

I know there's something else but I can't remember.

My bones hurt.............I think I'm turning into my dad. seriously, he walks around groaning all the time because his back/knee/shoulder/etc. are hurting him, and I was doing the same thing earlier.

I finally got all my present shopping for the kids done. Mine and the sisters. Now I just need to get my mom the lined pants and John something from the boys.

Gotta get the kid up. Depending on the weather, might not have school tomorrow! NONONONONONONO!!!!!

My girls got up at 5:30am just to find out at 6:15 that school was cancelled. So that means I was woken at 5:30, 6:15, and 6:50 because one of the carriers called in so I had to hightail it to work wat before I expected to. So much for my morning errands.

I know some have with a crockpot.
Seriously, though, not easy to do, but I have a co-worker who had a meanie and one day as she was leaving the chicken yard he came up behind her and she managed to catch him in the gate by the neck. She didn't hurt him, but gave him a nice squeeze and held it for a bit. She never had a problem with him again.
Your hen to roo ratio is way off so that could possibly be a part of the problem.
