Finally broke down and made an account with e bay; found out a gal in Holt has an online account of ..........PINK stuff! LOL. She has all the kitchen gadgets i want. I hope she will let me visit in person, otherwise it's $5 s&h each item! I wanna meet her anyway, girl after my own heart.

The joy of home ownership, or even house rental is the spring clean up that comes after winter... AND the endless, it seems, hours of cleaning up dog crap. I took advantage of the beautiful day after work to get the back yard a bit more acceptable. It really was an eye sore. I also found that my idea of leaving the pool in the back wasn't the best one I have had. It got brittle on the bottom and had full out cracks. I guess that's a $40 wasted. Well, not really. The kids and I did have loads of fun in it last summer. I will have to buy a new one. I won't have to buy a cover though. I have that. I really did figure it would be ok folded up and stored in the tote out there. Guess I learned something new. It's going in the trash now.

Got the dregs of leaves burned. Along with the winters accumulation of dog doo. Thankfully, it didn't smell like burning dog doo. LOL.

Neice and Nephew are coming tomorrow. Spring break, and I am going to take advantage of their friday free and get them to help me move the fence. I was going to get their help doing yard work, but I decided not to be so mean. LOL. I did that myself.

had a lady come and buy up my eggs today. Had a dozen left and made spinach, tomatoe, red onion, cilantro and parsley omlets with colby jack on top with pancakes for dinner. I hope those pancakes do not do me in. Ya'll know what it's like after a gall bladder episode. Stomach hurts for days afterwards... I can see why they say broth diet for a few days after. Digestion just kicks your butt. Last night I ate BBQ chicken legs and ended up in bed at 9, rocking back and forth like I had my aunt visiting, but not, 2 AM came and I dosed my self up with pain killers just to get back to sleep. MAN, today was not a so nice. Why does it seem to hurt so much when you have to be active? Right there, center of the chest. Feels like you climbed 100 steps minus the heavy breathing...

ANYWAY. I am uploading a vid of Florus... He's worse. I did however figure out how he keeps getting out. I was right in my guess, I saw him do it today. Pushed under the plastic chicken fence. Smart bird. They aren't so dumb once they learn a trick. Had to make it so he couldn't get out. Rotten escape artist.

Small improvement today. No fever. Still super tired, headache-y and hacking up a lung plus dealing with a raging case in my sinuses now. I didn't want to, but I made a trip to the store when it became obvious DH wasn't going to. Bad thing to do. My DDs went with me and they were running circles around me getting stuff while I scuffed my way about. Had a terrible time getting my breath and my coughing went ballistic. It's finally settled down, but I just feel blah. Not sure how I'm going to deal with work Saturday if I can't even make it through a trip to the store. DH is thinking I shouldn't work, but I've already missed 3 days due to this and the paycheck is shrinking. But then, do I want this to get worse by working before I'm well enough? Even my supe called me today to see if I was better and her first words were about how I still sound horrible. Face it everyone, I'm toast.

But enough about my lack of well-being.
Nova, as much as he would hate it, you need to confine Florus to a small space like a dog crate. The less he moves around the better chance his neck will have to heal. We kept our girl in a small crate and DD only took her out to help her eat and drink. And when she did that, she held her just so and brought the food and water up to her so she didn't have to peck down. I think his neck won't heal quickly if he keeps moving it all over and bobbing it, kind of like re-aggravating the problem continually. It took our girl a good week before she regained a lot of neck control.

Wow haven't been on here for few days! Tee sorry you are sick hope you get better soon! And Nova bless your heart, sick yourself and now poor florus is sick. Hope he heals up soon. He's a handsome rooster. Reminds me of my Ole Sam. Which by the way has settled way down since he has a couple more lady's! And my 2 broody bantams are still setting together on the 13 eggs. My other bantam has finally started laying again. And my other 9 big girls are all laying, so getting plenty of eggs! Hope your weather breaks soon. Love the flowers you took picture of beautiful! Come on spring! I'm upset with neighbor he's not feeding his dog, so I've been feeding it for past three days! Feel so sorry for her. Hope everyone has a great day, and get well soon. Silver, hope your dog gets better soon, we have a 15 month old golden retriever, and when we got her t 7 weeks first thing I did was put health insurance on her! It's called VPI insurance. You can go to their website it's www.vpi.com. It's well worth the 45.00 we pay a month for it. Shes had several insidents of eating things she's not supposed to eat. One bill alone was over 1,000, it payed all but few dollars of that. It pays for all vaccines. And medications. It's awesome. I'd would recommend it highly! Good luck with your dog. God bless

Nova, i still say conefinement too. Could be neck healing, could be dizziness from head damage; a hard attack could do that kind of internal damage to his brain. ? Just being cautious. Make the booger heal!

BYFM that's kinda cool and scarey! Glad to hear that it can heal naturally. And that you had a helpful friend! Superglue is my friend in emergencies. I've glued and taped myself together, proof that it works! Never had styptic powder on hand when i needed it, used superglue equivalent on the birds when i accidentally overtrimmed, too.

Too bad about the dog, savanna. Glad you are being her angel.

Tee, my gosh this last part of winter has been one big sick for you! By the time summer hits all you will remember of the winter is your bed.

Well, I got the dogs run cut down. They've now got 1/3 of the yard. The kids and chickens have the rest. Dogs are not so happy, but the kids won't have to contend with dog doo in random places, like at the end of the slides. Lol. I am still going to have to buy more fence this year though to make runs. Need to bum a truck or get a dumpster and get that shed cleaned out. Want to move the original birds there, keep the current set up for the trios and mamas. That back shed will be a fun challenge though. Need to build a ladder to get up in the loft like area, I can see it now... Dang birds having chicks up there! Anyway... Feel good about what I got done today.

Hey all! I've been off for awhile because we are hiring at school and academic interviews last all day - no kidding. Start at 8 and get over at 6 and then I've had night classes. I'm exhausted.

I'm sorry you guys are sick. Not fun at all! Are taking your vitamins and zinc? I swear it works.

Nova, how's Florus? I agree, the less movement the better and it may take awhile. Sucks when you have a sick animal.

We've got all the kids AND their In-laws coming at 11 tomorrow to do an 11 lunch. I'm exhausted and can't even pull myself out of the chair, much less clean this pit of a house. I don't know when I'm going to get everything done. Guess I'll be getting up at 5 and doing the 50 mile an hour cleaning. Then I've got a pork loin to stuff and bake and a cake to make and decorate and outside to clean up so we can hunt eggs without being totally embarrassed.

My Jersey Giants at 4 wks old are HUGE! They are twice the size of all the other chicks and are squawking like you wouldn't believe. After we get Easter over tomorrow I'm going to build the "annex" onto the existing coop inside and then move the chicks out of the house - whoopee.

well, gotta run and get dinner around. I'm glad to be back!!!!!
