Fuzzy's Farm

Hi everybody
frow.gif

I have been super busy DH has been home for almost a week. Love the man but glad he left again this morning. Drives me nuts sometimes. Will say it was a good home time. He built me a new brooder box that is 4 X 5 with 4 foot walls. won't have to worry about chicks flying out for awhile. I can split it off and he even thought to put in a dutch door in so I could have easier access.
Had grand kids over the weekend too!
Went and bought a brand spankin new washer yesterday. We were going to take it home with us seeing as DH was home instead of waiting for delivery. When the guy brought it out of stock to put on the truck I saw the box. My reaction was "oh wow another brooder box!" Boy, did I get the evil eyes.
Had my first batch of shipped eggs hatch. only 12 but I am thinking that is better than none. Hope you gals have a better hatch than I did.
When I was in Family Farm and Home the other day there was a young coupe in the looking at the chicks. The clerk asked if she could help them. The reply was "we were looking for Tyson chicks"!
Tee sorry about the kitty and hope you find the missing girl
BYFM How is the dogs ear doing?
Hey Fuzzy how is that goat doing Update
gigi how Georgie doing?
Silver did you go purple hair. If so you'd fit right in with us at chicken stock. Listen to Sally and your shipped eggs should do OK. Good luck!
Nova glad your drying up some. Sorry your property value is going back down I know lake front is more

Hey everyone! Been swamped last few days trying to catch up, tee sorry about your hen, hope she's just hiding out. Nova I love the pictures of your chickens! And I agree the one chick looks like a eagle! Lol... Love the fuzzy chickens, very pretty. What are they? My chicks turned two weeks Saturday, doing very well! Of course with three mamas counting the crazy rooster they should be! Lol.. That rooster is so funny thinks he's a hen. It's amazing how he takes care of them like the hens do. My sister is bringing me baby ducks and some chicks she hatched the end of this month. So gotta build new pens for them. Really wasn't in on ducks yet but she hatched them just for me... Soooo. Hope the dogs ear is better? And Ive been watching all the flooding and water you all have. Hope you dry out soon. I went out earlier to water plants and stepped in the middle of a fire ant pile! :( :( ouch did they get me good. So thankfully I had fire ant killer and put it on. We had several piles over weekend we had to do. Be glad you all don't have fire ants or you would be really fighting them with the water, because they don't drown they attach themselves to any thing that's floating and just are all in the water. They hurt bad when you get stung! When Ivan came through last year we were so flooded that you had to be careful even with boots on because they were everywhere. Anyway bet your tired of me rambling on!!! Lol have a blessed day

So... I picked up a trunk load of deck wood free today. Now I just need to build a frame, and then put on the deck wood, sand a bit, caulk, paint and then roof. Oh. Yeah. Did I mention it was free? Did I mention each peice is 3-3.5 feet long... did I mention its about 60 peices? Oh... Yeah. LOL

SO... frame wood and a solid roof peice.. thinking...wood also...thinking... I feel like I am covering in bugs. DID I MENTION ALL THAT FREAKING RAIN HAS BROUGHT OUT THE DANGGUMIT BUGS!

Oh... it's raining.

Rusty, totally know what you mean on being glad when the week off is over. We can't push DH out the door fast enough. LOL
Savannah, I do not like fire ants. Sorry they got you.
Nova, if you keep thinking then you're going to have to build me a brooder.

See what I did there. LOL
Hi Fuzzy. How's the goat doing?

Yes, it's raining again. At least it held off until I finished work today.
Now I just want to put on some comfy pj's and relax for the rest of the night.

Goat's doing great! Bouncing around and whatever they put in that drench really puts him in a good mood. I wish i could take a sip! He has been treating me different, talking nice and not beating me up when i feed him.

Chickens doing good too. The pullets are now hens, been laying me tons of blue/grey/green-ish eggs almost daily! Huge hawk or eagle i have to watch for though, DH's uncle still lets his free range completely and that attracts the predetors like nothing else here; AND it's a pain in the rear trying to keep them seperate from my flock. They let me come really close lately, sad that they'll just end up eaten by his aunt or the predetors. Last summer evidentely wasn't enough to "learn" them :(

STILL house hunting, DH keeps waffling. He wants to move in, he doesn't. Wants to, doesn't. Grr! I need something ASAP, going to be homeless otherwise! And not only are most of the apartments waaaaay high priced lately, they want perfect credit. Wich i don't have; if i had it i'd be buying! Grr.
So same ol same ol around here, house and job hunting. I'm not the only one stressed to the max at this job though, found out today that one of their cooks at another location died of a heart attack yesterday! (At home) Only in her mid 50's too. What a shame.

One of these days i'll have to remember my camera; the girls grew up pretty! I'm on a mission to un-box my sewing machine and make a diaper up this week.

Well, with things shaping up like they seem to be he'll be a much lonlier goat soon. I was super close to snagging an apartment in town, which would have allowed me to keep my birds, but that credit..... Not terrible, not perfect either. And the landloard didn't want ANY pets, even with reassurance and possible extra $$$. Sparta house would have needed both of us to afford. Soooo back to square one. And Sun homes owned trailer parks don't want anything on your credit. Fired off another e mail today, but this one wants a $250 non-refundable deposit! And $25 per month per pet. I guess that don't allow for chickens :( I'm gonna try to meet and at least negotiate for my Hope girl.
