I just came back in from checking the last broodies eggs. I went through a few days back checking them and wound up tossing quite a few, combining the remaining and tossing one broody off. Anyway, had one tosser tonight, but heard tapping from 5 and thought I heard a sixth one, too. So 6 potentials. I really hope some hatch so the lone chick can have a friend. Do you think I could integrate them easily once any of the eggs hatch?

Oh, I hope so! Lonely chicks are a hard thing. I had my one lonely, but was able to get him in with the others after mama ditched him. I would snuggle him in between the bigger ones on the last of the cold nites until he finished feathering out.

I have always been super afraid of tornados... Most of my nightmares include them. (luckily I don't have nightmares too often)


My broody is an idiot... She decided she would like to sit on all the new eggs laid today instead of her 2 babies growing in their eggs. By the time I found her the eggs were cold but I threw her back up on them and stole the others away!

BF says not to let them hatch anymore out... I say... I do what I want!
Not like he is paying for them out of his pocket and I got a real job now... poop on him.

I also asked him if we should get a turkey for Thanksgiving LOL

Hey everyone! hope everyone is good and safe from the tornados. I hate storms myself. We are getting ready for hurricane season here. Gulf coast sucks in hurricane season. We are about 20 miles inland but that still dosent matter. We got hit pretty good by isach last year. Well we are getting our new used mobile home moved in next week. Really excited about that. Still having rooster issues too. That boy wants to be eaten. He's sooo mean. My hens are being terrorized by him. Thinking he has got to go. Lock down dosent seem to work. My little bantam hens went broody again. Put her some big eggs in again. Some leghorns and buff orpintons. Last batch she hatched ended up with 1 leghorn and maran so hopefully will work with more this time. Dont really want anymore bantams, she has 3 or 4 under her. Gonna trade them with lady for red sexlinks

Wasn't done talking!!! Lol.. Hit wrong button! Anyway hope the trailer is coming along? Nova how's your new chicks? And kids doing? Everyone healed up? And tornado dreams aren't good. Don't eat before bed! Keeps dreams at bay.. Have good night .

But i can see the bones of my design now, just enough appease me for now. Daggone toilet still giving issues, too. Seals don't wanna seal? But it is working, that's a good thing! Bathroom's VERY cream, gives you a very clean sort of feeling; and i found a large oval mirror with a real wood frame at a yard sale for a few bucks! Gonna sand it and stain it with the same mahogony stain i'm going to use on the baseboard.

Supposing this little gal makes it, do you want her Nova? She really is the nicest thing and looks similar to those silver laced wyendottes that you like. I'm still thinking of downsizing my flock, since i don't get to spend the time with them i want to.

there is another place that wants laying hens, but i don't think they pet them. Silly i suppose, but my flock does like pettings. I'm not in a rush to get rid of them unless i find the perfect home.

They're gone. All gone. A raccoon got in the coop at some point this afternoon and any egg not being sat on by a hen (not sure why it didn't go after them) was eaten/destroyed including the eggs that might have hatched in the next few days. This day has been one aggravating event to the next. I'm so overly peeved off right now. In fact, I've been that way all day. This was just icing on the crappy cake.
