Ah... poor Nugget...

Well, got 4 loads washed and hung today. A lot of walking up and down the stairs... Got the coops cleaned, roosts scraped, run raked. The neighbors chickens came for dinner in two different groups. LOL, they are so funny. Poor Carl put up a fence to deter them, but they just go farther in the woods and then come back out on my side. HAHA.

Had a hawk visit today. No one was injured, but they sure put up a ruckus and crammed themselves under bushes. The funniest thing, Coco Chanel comes running across the yard at top speed once I was out there and checking things out. Anyway, she was hiding under the neighbors lilac weeds with a few of the other girls, and one at a time they all ran across the front yard to the bushes on the other side of the yard and in a direct line to the coop. Only Coco Chanel comes tearing across the lawn making the most God awful noise at the same time like she's in the process of becoming a hawk special. LOL.

We had a person come that is trying to get business for home improvement jobs. I am standing there looking up at the sky, kinda turning in circles watching for that darn hawk cuz he was cruising around casing the joint. The lady asked me what I was looking for, and I told her. She was shocked that the hawk would eat a chicken. She then asked me if I thought they'd eat her little 3 pound chihuahuas. I told her yes, and that with them being that little, they'd probably carry it away with them. LOL. She lives in rabbitville, so I think she's probably got nothing to worry about. LOL.

Anyway. Took me a anti inflammatory. Hope my foot won't hurt to bad later... It hurts like a mother now.

Our neighbor actually did loose her chihuahua to a hawk. It swooped down and plucked it up right in front of her and flew away with it. She was so traumatized - came down here and we went looking but didn't find it or even any remains.

LOL, that had to be cute! If you were having a bad day, that alone would have made it go away!

Definitely! The goats are always good for cheering one up. If they aren't acting wacky they are begging to be petted like furry hoofed dogs - ha. The chickens were even watching them today - I'm sure my ladies were scandalized at such behavior - lol!

I cannot get this incubator right so i can set my eggs getting frustrated !!!!! my day was a long one ... extra time in counseling... meds refilled..groveries..clothes...busybusy...

OOhh ok how about this to some of my favorite peeps- any ideas on a chicken diaper small enough for a serema who refuses to sleep anywhere but right beside me lol

never seen small ones though ... most ofthem are for regular size LF and bantams possibly ... she is tiny tiny

same concept, just draw it smaller There are online stores that sell bird diapers, too. You could get a cockatiel one?

Ren fest was awesome! I probably could have brought a chicken, there was only two dogs and I don't think they woulda grabbed a chicken from my arms. Next year! Oh, and:

I RODE A CAMEL!

It was cool, basically just like a tall, fuzzy horse. One was sleeping, and he looked just like Max (my wether pygmy)..........right down to the expression of all knowingness...........lol. People were freaking out because the petting zoo had goats. One lady thought it was a miniature horse. . That's part of the reason I wished I had brought Sophie, the petting zoo didn't have chickens! With her on my shoulder people probably would have though I had a parrot lol
