Cole stared at the creature, thinking hard of what to say. He knew where the human was and didn't need any help in disposing of her, and he definitely didn't want the glory to have to be shared with this thing. But maybe "this thing" could be useful concerning other aspects, such as finding more humans if there were some. "Very well then, lead the way," he consented. He was curious if he and this snake had the same human in mind.
