What boggles me... Winter Games... I'm assuming that this isn't some spur of the moment thing right? They knew that these Games would be coming, this year, at this time?? Should have had plenty of time to fiddle with the school schedule so that they still get the X number of days attended, as required by law here... 180... you could start one week earlier, then take a two weeks spring break, and still be at 180 like your neighboring city's kids... So... was this planned in advance, and the kids won't really be missing school, all balance in the end sort of thing? Or did they not know about this/last minute decision to tweak the schedule? And if last minute why not just move the break up a week, and then go back to school during the previously scheduled break? Are the kids going to have to stay into the summer to make up for those missed days? Are the teachers going to be paid extra for an extra week of work? It's expensive to alter schedules... hope they know what they're doing.
