"gambling" with fate to defend my eggs' life (he/she make it!!!!)

Yes, I've been gone for a while and not for happy reasons. Pretty miserable ones, actually.

I'm glad to know your duck eggs are doing okay.

You have a lot going on, so you learn things when you do, and that's that. And like all of us, you pray when you can for those who need it. No apologies required. Life is tough in different ways for different reasons in different places.

i've been editing the last post that i post after you come back, i'm really sorry for not know even what's going on there. i'm sorry. i hope you will be better soon. may God bless you and give power to you and your family.

forgive me for any wrong word/statement i've made, my english is bad so maybe some word/statement could result in rude meaning for you. i'm really sorry to hear that.

Hi Mulia,

Please don't feel bad! You are so sweet and considerate, and no one thinks badly of you for not mentioning the fires. At least I hope not, because I haven't mentioned them either, even though I know others on this forum are affected by them. The United States is so big that it seems like a far-away problem to us on the East side of the U.S. when fires are burning on the West.

We know you care about what happens to us here.

I hope you have a good week. When are your first eggs due to hatch? It must be soon, right?

on the two duck eggs... As for the chicken eggs, after 1 week you only have 1 blood ring, you are doing better than me... I will be posting an update in just a few minutes on mine.. Unfortunately, there is nothing you could do about the infertile eggs... There was nothing there to start with...

Mulia, no one here on BYC thinks badly of you at all! We have no reason to. And as far as your english, perhaps i will get fussed at for saying this but you have better english than a lot of people who actually LIVE in the US... Your english is actually pretty good.. It is very difficult for you to use what we call "proper" english meaning instead of saying "eggs is about to hatch one week more" we here would say "eggs are about to hatch in another week" or "eggs are about to hatch in one more week".. But, no matter how you say it, your english is *VERY* understandable....

OMG , i even forget to use "are" since two eggs are plural, i should use "are" rather than "is" cause "is" is use in singular. i just keep typing so i don't check it for grammar and the spelling again, just click "submit". thank you for remind me.

by the way, i found that it's very useful to watch a movie made by Hollywood or another film studio that use english as the language. i learn many "accent" or "slang" from those and i actually really like pride & prejudice since it use british english, a little complicated but perfect british english.

oh, 1 more, how could you "english user" differencing between "can" and "can't" while talking? i just can't understand and "catch" when someone talk to me "i can go with you" or "i can't go with you". i can't find the difference when talking.

thank you for helping

oh thanks dancing bear. but i think really need to make a "small note" after i post something in order to let people know that i'm not a english native speaker so they can "understand" so they won't blame me if i "combine" word that could "hurt" someone's feeling. is that good?

Hey Mulia--Since you're self-conscious about your non-native English, I think you have a good idea to put something in your signature line about it. You could just say, "Living in Indonesia" or something along those lines, and anyone seeing your post would know that English is not your native language.

I agree with everyone here that says your English is wonderful. I would be delighted to be able to speak a second language as well as you speak English.

I can't help you with the "can" and "can't" difficulty. I never thought about it before, but they do sound a lot alike in spoken English. Even as a native speaker, I have occasionally had to ask someone to clarify which they meant. I guess you'll just have to ask people to repeat themselves.

wow, amazing, i think i'm the dumb man that couldn't difference between can and can't. that's why i like to use could and couldn't in conversation although i know that use in past tense and passive voice.

yap, that's good idea, 3 minutes to change it heather.

oow... i love english, many thing can be done with english, but i can speak chinese and write a little calligraphic too cause that's my native language

you haven't heard malaysian language, if i compared it with indonesian then let you know you will have to laugh hard.

case: stir (english)
aduk (indonesian)
kacau (malaysian)

did you know that "kacau" is also a word in indonesian and the word means "chaos" in english. i just laugh, how can they think that mix coffee and sugar can cause chaos. the sugar and coffee are fighting so the chaos begin.
