I've fired a 9-mm handgun, a .45 handgun, a .357 revolver, a .38 revolver, I own a .22, dad owns a 12-gauge, and I've also fired a variety of 20-gauges and 12-gauges.
Never fired a rifle larger than a .22, but hopefully I'll have an AK pretty soon.
Maybe it's because I've never fired one before, but what's so fun about guns other than say, hunting? Do you shoot targets or something or are you a hunter? I've fired a hunting bow before, and I can say it's pretty cool, and it doesn't make my ears bleed.
Having fired a .45 without ear protection, I know that a gun won't make your ears bleed. It will just shut them down for a few minutes.
The thing about guns is that there is so much POWER, all in that one 4-pound device of metal and wood. Plus, gunpowder smells really good. It's intoxicating, almost.
Pull the trigger on any gun, and you'll see what I mean. It just feels good. Also, watching targets blow up is quite gratifying.
Actually, my dad and I hope to go hunting next summer. Either deer with the 12-gauge or turkeys with the .22.
