Just adding my two cents here. About a month ago, one of our Red Sex Pullets had a gaping hole in her neck. It looked like something took a 1 1/2" bite starting right behind her ear. First thing I did was come on here and find out how to treat this. I completly forgot about Blu Kote. I grew up on a farm and dad had that stuff everywhere. We started treating the wound twice a day. I'd wash the wound with warm water with a little bit of Dawn dish soap in it. Then kinda pat dry. Then spray on a good coat of Blu Kote. Did this for two weeks. It still looked bad. Big ugly looking scab like thing covering most of the hole. I figured we was doing something right cause as bad as it looked, it never smelled bad. Then we did this once a day for about two weeks. By this time it just looked like a big scab. We then stop doing anything and just kept a eye on her. It sounds kind of weird but every day I'd sniff the wound just to make sure it was'nt infected. If'n you have ever smelled infection before, you'll never forget it. It's taken about 6 weeks but she is completely healed. Like I said before, just wanted to add my two cents.
