I had a hen go broody. She hatched two chicks. However, something (possibly other chickens) got the one chick. We had the hen a remaining chick separate. I knew that she would like to be outside. I thought I would devise a way for her to "weed and till", fertilize and eat the bugs and grubs. This is what I constructed from discarded and extras from around the farm. It is heavy but for now is allowing her and baby to scratch away. The house is a discarded cabinet, the roof is a droppings pan for a wire rabbit cage, the blue rope is bale rope that you always find on a farm. I had used the cabinet door handles for moving it but they were not up to the task so the bale rope has replaced them. The feed and water are inside the "back" door.

Nice way to use the stuff you find laying around the homestead!
