Lol thats funny! Well I have two old hens or I should say a hen and a rooster, because apparently when some hens get old they can basically turn into a rooster... she crows, treat calls and has spurs, you name it she does itOnce you have chickens you have to read every label and ask questions about anything and everything you aren’t sure of.
Our motto is: if it’s green and grows, we’ll mow it.
We don’t put anything on the yard.
If weeds get big I hand weed. Or kill them with vinegar. Small ones just get cut by the lawnmower, and bagged most times. Then the bagged greens get dumped for the chickens to eat/scratch through/compost
Chickens are natural fertilizers, if you only have a few and plan on free ranging at least part of the day.
If you have more than a few chickens and are freeranging on say 3/4 of an acre or less... in a year’s time you won’t have any grass to worry about,
...because they’ll have eaten it all anyway.
Chickens are little solar-powered eating/pooping/egglaying MACHINES!
Oh wow. Somebody really needs to name a flock after lawn mower brands and the rooster can be named John Deere!
Oh good gosh. I crack myself up sometimes!
Slappin one of these on my own post:
Yup. I do this every once in a while.

so I think I need to get more chickens to keep the lawn looking good hahaha. I definitely plan on doing the vinegar again this year. Seems like you have to use a ton of it though ugh
