Daffodils and crocuses are blooming here, the wildflowers know better but will be up soon. Forecasting 4" of the white stuff over the next two days in what is shaping up to be a sloppy week. March in Ohio...back to the wood stove and the shop. At least we had a nice sunny day in the garden yesterday!

Spring is here...(calendar shows so) My daffodils are about 2 inches tall , but not blooming yet. My lilies did sprout but looks like they got frosted on tips. I know they will recover soon as they grow. I'm in Zone 5....

I know spring is here because I have antelope in the backyard and ground squirrels popping up out of holes.

Pussy Willows. First Robins last Thurs. Birds singing their spring songs. Red Winged Black Birds. All are disappointed. Still 3.5' of snow on garden. Not much food out there for the poor critters.

Chickens? Yeah, I do feed them! Wild birds? No. I have not done so for several years. Enjoyed it. Had rats move into my territory last summer. No intention of feeding birds in the near future. I have considered feeding the turkeys to keep them coming around my flock!

Today is officially the first day of spring even though most of the ground is still frozen here and there are patches of snow. The 1/8" of snow that fell last night is melted and these little guys think it's time to bloom.

My Victoria Rhubarb is also coming up now.

Mine are covered in snow today! i hope they live.
