Gardening for Old Folks (Adaptative)

I got some things wanted in my new bed this morning.
Calla lilies, basil. Lavender, marigolds and summer squash seeds.
And I planted a couple tomato plants in my wicking bed.

Are you going to fill those cinder block openings and plant some annuals there??? Inpatients would enhance the frames. I know they do well in shade, but I found that they do just fine in full sun.

If you water them well every afternoon I had some at an apartment on the west side, always looked dead when I got home from work though they perked back up once watered.

I agree with the water hungry scenario. I only grow mine in containers as many other flowers as well. Watering is easier as the water does not just disappear into the adjoining ground.

Purchased this Japanese Maple. It came in a relatively small pot, so I transplanted into a larger pot. Wanted to have root ball grow larger. (reason) I'm still not decided as to location.

I was thinking about planting some herbs in them mixed with some flowers.

I got about 3/4 of my raised bed hand tilled yesterday and planted my sweet potatoes. Happy to get that done. Need to plant more tomato plants as well.

I still have seed to plant and grow bags to fill and finish my raised bed.

I need to start making my raised beds. Going to try and grow some carrots this year. The stone riddled clay soil isn't very good for that.

Does anyone here grow Parsley root? I never have, but do occasionally find it at the produce section (not always). Like to use it in chicken soup as one of the vegetables. Of course we use the greens also.
